Pretty much. But as it's a EGS exclusive, SE don't need to care with the games do well or not. They already got their money. And given that some no-names like Phoenix Point got a estimated $2M for the exclusivity. Is fair to say that the amount SE receive for this, should be enough to not only cover the cost of the ports but also given then a big chunk of revenue.

The only issue with their strategy is that unless they bring it as a collection to Steam one year from...

The issue with waiting for prices to drop, is that SE have a history of never going below the 50% off for their main games. So unless PC get the Collection that is currently on consoles, is very likely that the cheaper it will ever be is $85. And that is for the US makert, other places also have to deal with the terrible SE regional pricing policy.

If it's anything like TPHD they will also lock the only new content in the game behind the Amiibo as well.

It isn't. That feature is available on Dolphin as a hack/mod for half a decade.

The only reason as to why people said that the controls would make the port hard to come by. Is because they either had no idea that this mod was a thing. Or they knew about it but thought that Nintendo would not make such a compromise.

I can. But it will cost you $60. In all seriously. If you think that the fact that the Switch is portable is enough to make a $60 lazy remaster be worth it. There is nothing that I can say that will convince you otherwise.

It looks sharper and they didn't fucked up the atmosphere as they did with Twilight Princess HD. But still doesn't look like something much better than what we can achieve with Dolphin and some hacks. What for the $60 price tag I see as a issue.

And is the censored version of both of them. Sort of weird seeing that given that is Nintendo own property. Though that might be the difference between a ESRB T and a ESRB E

Well in this particular case it doesn't matter if is a Nintendo game or not. As this is a mod for a console game that can only be used in computers by means of a emulator. So I doubt that there is a single company in the market that would be fine with it.

That said the end result is pretty amazing.

It makes sense. The GPU on the Series S is roughly equivalent to the GTX 1060. A GPU that while still great for 1080p/30fps is starting to show it's age in more modern titles.

That said. It's a concerning new for the future of the Metro games and the studio. Given the foothold that they had on the PC market and the fact that the average computer is likely about a Series S in performance.

That is a fair point. They are even promising 1080p with RT on the Series S. But AMD and RT is so far very hit or miss, especially without a DLSS similar.

Wonder how well it will run on the new AMD cards. And finally the promised Linux version is coming.

Unfortunately it often don't affect them. Because as most games are only exclusives for a year. Once they reach Steam they sell like they are brand new tittles. For example Satisfactory was likely one of the worst case of exclusivity. With the developers actually being sort of assholes about the whole deal and it went to be a multi-milion seller on Steam a year later.

So for many. Is basically a bag of money now for "free" and then in a year they will chash o...

The issue itself is not the price of the games individually. Is the fact that contrary to the console version there is no "Collection" that feature the main games at a lower price and being a SE game. Meaning that regional pricing is awful, deals will likely not supress 50% off and the port quality might be lacking.

And to add salt to the injury. This is a EGS exclusive and with that it lack features. For example achievement hunting is not a thing in this versio...

Switch emulation is very far already. With a few exceptions, most of the library is already playable at some state. And a couple of games actually play better on the emulator than they do on the original hardware.

Honestly I would love to get those old PC-98 games being ported/localized for modern computers. They have a pretty unique style and actually emulating them is a pain. Not to mention that 99% of the library is in Japanese only.

But for particular series. I would really like to try the Angelique series from Koei. As far as I'm aware there is no full translation of the games. And being the regarded as the first in it's genre I feel it would be nice to have it being ac...

But is spiritual sucessor for what Dino Crisis? As every game plays very different than the previous entry. The original is more slow, focus on puzzles and is more atmospheric. The second is much more action packed, lots of woods. And the third is well the third.

I'm all for more games with dinos. But saying that is a spiritual sucessor to Dino Crisis don't mean much. And the few screenshots actually remind me more of the last Turok than any other game.

That is nice.
This series has a lot of potential and I would love a sequel. But a anime is a good second choice.

Maybe it doesn't take scalpers as consumers? For example in my country the PS5 (and the Series X for that matter) are out of stock in pretty much all stores. But there is plenty of stock in markeplaces and grey markets.

Though honestly I have no idea how they would even go about doing that.

Normally they will be up in XSEED own store. So just take a look there. Though the pre-orders are likely not open yet.

1838d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

We don't know about censorship yet because XSEED has been super quiet about it (what is never a good sign). But they did lost a lot of the original licensed stuff. So now we have "SECA" instead of Sega between others.
