We're what? 2 years in on the Vita now? And still none of my local retailers other than Gamestop have more than 10 different Vita game titles on the shelf at any given time, some of which are still launch titles.
Sure, if you get online and look at the PSN Store, there's a lot more content available, but if you're a prospective new customer, you won't know that until you've already bought the thing and got online with it. Look at this system from the st...
Yeah, great! Sony barely utters the word "Vita" in their press conference that most gamers can actually watch. Instead, they show off the games on the show floor. Well, the problem is, most gamers are not there to see those games on the floor! And press coverage of the stuff on the floor is generally abysmal. We get live blogs and video feeds of the press conferences and little else. Occasionally, we'll get some tidbits on games that press members want to write about, but ...
Show-stoppers are virtually always BAD things and are usually to be avoided at all costs. Why would you want one of those?
I think the words you're looking for are "killer app" or maybe "bombshell announcement".
I think you're conflating expressions "show-stopper" and "stop the presses" maybe? "Stop the presses" means: "Wait, hold up. This is big news and we need to get it out. Stop what you...
I'm more surprised that this feature/function isn't baked into the hardware. It's not like this is a new BD spec or something. 3d support should be mandated on new hardware by now.
As dumb as it sounds, I actually agree with old Manuel here. I guess they figured it does fall under the public/political figure for purposes of parody or satire? I don't see any parody or satire going on in these games, so that would be a pretty thin argument, I think. All I see are false representations of him, or at least his likeness, doing things he never did and it amounts to little more than defamation. Noriega doesn't need any help with defaming his character. Developers ...
What? Like it's some kind of secret weapon or something? What a moronic thought...
Sony will release the next hardware refresh as soon as it's ready to go. The sooner they get a unit out that is cheaper to manufacture, the better their margins will be. Maybe still not profitable on each box sold, but at least getting them closer to that goal, and the sooner they can do that the better.
Sony's only goal is a nice fat bottom line on their quarte...
I say bull-pucky. If they really stood behind the Vita, then why drop "Vita" from the name on the Playstation TV? Seems to me they're afraid that the name may be a detriment to sales so they dropped it because so many people have a negative perception of the Vita. Rather than addressing the reasons why people are unhappy with Vita, they'd rather mostly act like the Vita is not a standalone platform.
He's not surprised. He's just trolling and you took the bait.
Virtual Boy Advance to compete with Sony's Morpheus. I'm calling it.
My local Target store only has 6 Vita game titles on their shelf. That certainly doesn't look like "lots of games" to new customers. They can't see all that is reLly available for it until after they buy it unless they already have a PSN account on another Sony device. My local Best Buy store isn't much better with a whopping 10 different Vita titles on the shelf.
Meanwhile, the 3DS is cheaper to buy with no ridiculously priced flash memory and has se...
"will be better"? Well, that's a pretty low bar to clear there, Shaq. Wouldn't take much to make that claim true. Interesting choice of words used... "Better" instead of "good" or "great". If you're not striving for "great" then don't bother.
LOL @ Naughty Dog praising the PS4. They better damn well praise it if they want to keep their jobs since they're owned by Sony! I suppose we can expect a similar story incoming about the Bravia and Columbia Pictures guys praising the PS4 next?
Don't get me wrong, the ND guys are amazing and I love their games, but their testimonial here don't really carry a whole lot of weight given their relationship.
I thought Crash was owned by MS now since he was created by Rare? If there's any characters synonymous with the PlayStation brand these days it's a tie between Kratos, Sackboy, and Nathan Drake. I would say Ratchet & Clank, too, but I'm not certain if Sony has actually secured exclusivity with Insomniac on the franchise.
Whoops, sorry, man. I hit disagree on accident.
My thought is that it's mostly due to proliferation of cell phone gaming in recent years. Much like cameras, the best game system is the one that you have with you, and hardly anyone leaves the house without their cell phone anymore.
Also, every store near me that sells the Vita only has 8-12 game titles on the shelf in the Vita section and several of those are launch titles from what? Two years ago or whenever it was this thing launched? This gives the consumer the pe...
Define "great in japan." Better than North America, certainly, but that's an awfully low bar. I read on playstationlifestyle that they only sold only around 4 million Vitas worldwide in 2013.
Yeah, really. Once again, their portable is their redheaded step-child. It's amazing that they almost act like the thing doesn't even exist most of the time. People around here keep saying that the Vita has recently had a bunch of good games for it. Maybe so, but none of my local retailers carry more than about 8-10 Vita titles in store, most of which have been out for a year or more with at least half of them being launch titles. They wonder why their Vita sales suck? No one is...

PS1 had an "OS with a dashboard". Just turn it on with no disc installed.
PS1 could play audio CD's with a few built-in visualization options. PS2 was the first cheap DVD player on the market and helped drive the format.
Party system on 360, OK, MS was first to do this on a console. It was done years before on PC by apps like GameSpy.
Downloadable indie games? Maybe MS was first on consoles, but not by much. This was do-able on PC for at le...
LOL, they're on wish lists because people don't want to buy it because it isn't worth their money. It IS worth someone else's money, though! Heh.
Wish list numbers don't mean squat. Sales count. All else is fluff trying to distract people from what matters.
Not properly supporting the vita because the PS4 is making more money is a bit like Chevrolet slacking on support for the Corvette because they make more money on the Camaro. It makes no sense at all.
