Maybe so with regard to PS3 and PS4, but don't forget about the Vita. That thing is stuck in quicksand because of Sony ignoring it.
They just dropped prices on the cards a couple weeks ago, but yeah, still not even close to where they should be priced.
Mmm-hmm.... And what about the Vita? Forgotten again...
It's been at the same bloated price for how long now? Sales still lagging. Suppose there might be a connection there? And why, in God's name, are the memory cards still so effing expensive even after their recent price drops?
I love my Vita and the few games I actually have for it, but I can only stand so many, usually pervy, JRPG's and weird indie games. It seems like that's all we ...
Couldn't agree more. It also hurts the image of the system when you walk into any retailer other than Gamestop and see at most 12-15 titles on the shelf in the Vita section, if there even IS a Vita section anymore. And of those, there's a good chance that a good portion of those are still launch titles. The Walmart stores near me don't even stock Vita anymore and some, but not all, of the Target stores around here have stopped carrying it also. Go over to the 3DS section and t...
Skyline distracting? No, not really. The camera jerking around all over the place though? Yeah. WAY distracting. Might have been better if the camera movement was smoother. Is the player controlling that or is it some kind of automatic thing meant to help increase awareness of nearby opponents? I do like that the perspective shifts a bit to look ahead through corners better than, say, Gran Turismo does where it's locked dead ahead making it sometimes hard to see around corners.
No so sure I agree. The Stig doesn't and hasn't ever spoken a word in the entire run of Top Gear. Why would it make sense to have the Tame Racing Driver speak now? They could literally put anyone in there and say, "And here's The Stig to give you some pointers" and you'd have no idea if it's really him or not. I'd much rather have someone like Mario Andretti, Richard Petty, or Marcus Gronholm do the talking. Bonus fun video of Marcus.
6AM EST (5am here in Central time zone) on Xmas Eve? Funk that noise.... I be sleepin'!
Yes, I have the game and play it, though admittedly a lot less lately. You see, I was unable to convince any of my friends to buy the game that I had planned to play with. They don't want to spend money on a game that doesn't work right. While that impression is not necessarily true anymore, the damage is already done. The game is decidedly less fun when played with people I don't know. Lastly, those things you mentioned are given to everyone. Nothin special for those that p...
"All you can do in those situations is say sorry."
Really? That's all you can do? How about a partial refund for paying customers that had a half-broken game for a good while? Or some how about some kind of commitment for some extra exclusive free DLC (more than a simple livery or something please) for us early adopters that bought it within the first couple of weeks after launch? There's plenty more than a "sorry" that could be done.
My biggest fear is that the only reason online was getting better was because people were giving up on the game, meaning the servers weren't getting hammered as hard. Be afraid that these issues come back again in full force once Xmas arrives and all those new copies get loaded up at the same time.
I agree. My Vita has always felt weird in my hands by itself. It really needs a set of grips installed. I don't like having to grip the thing with just my finger tips. I want to be able to rest the bottom edge of the Vita against the meaty part of my palms near the base of my thumbs. Really wrap my hands around the thing. It just feels like it's always perched a little precariously in my hands and it's not like I have a huge set of mitts over here either. I never take my Vi...
Half of the population is below average...
Got any extra cell phone chargers with a USB jack on it? I've used those before for charging my PS3 controllers and they work well enough. Also, kinda nice that it frees up a USB port on the console, too.
My guess is that they've started laying some of the ground work for the sleep mode function that the Vita has that lets you put games into sort of a suspended animation until you come back to it. They may have decided "Rest" vs. "Standby" was a better description of what it's doing.
I installed the update and it rebooted normally. I used the system for a while and then put it in rest mode. Saw this article and tried waking mine up and sure enough. Didn't work. Holding the power button did nothing. Single beep only and never reset. Ended up pulling the plug for a bit. After plugging it back in, it did a quick scan of the HDD and then booted normally except I got a splash screen explaining the new voice command features. Skipped that and everything else seemed ...
I beg to differ. Marketing IS the problem. None of my local Walmart stores even sell the Vita or any of its games. At all. None. Zero. I have several Best Buy stores local to me and they still carry Vita, but they've never in the history of the system have stocked more than 12-15 unique retail game titles at any one time. Yesterday when I stopped in and looked, they had a lousy 8 titles on the shelf. All of my local Target stores look the same as the Best Buy stores. If you're...
So, what Mr PR man is saying is that it was never downgraded because you can't downgrade something that was always full of suck from the beginning on both consoles. Like the programmer adage goes, "Garbage in, garbage out."
That one dude looks like Ice Cube and he's all like, "Look, I know I don't smoke weed, but..."
They already have this pretty well sorted out. Get a Vita or PS TV. Vita for when you're out and about or at home. PS TV when you're home. They also mentioned already for TVs that have PS Now built-in you'll be able to connect a Dual Shock controller to it and/or possibly use the Vita as a controller. I see no reason to offer a controller add-on for a cell phone. There's already third party solutions for that with a variety of phones and they don't sell. Do you know...
From existing franchises that would get me to bite, I'd have to go with the following:
A new and *exclusive* Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest game.
A new Gran Turismo game, maybe with a compelling way to make it work with GT6 on PS3.
Driveclub portable with cloud saves that sync with PS4 game.
A good exclusive Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Daxter, and/or Crash Bandicoot game.
I'd love a good tactics game similar to Advance Wars back on th...
