Would if I could, but my 7-8 year old PC at home doesn't have the horsepower to pull it off. My PS4 does, though, apparently. I'll be building a new PC in the next year or so, but it's not real high on my list of priorities. It sucks at gaming, but my old workhorse surprisingly still does everything else that I need it to do fairly well, including some CAD work when I need to work at home.
For the record, I did not Disagree with you here, but I wanted offer my rationale. I do still have my old PS2 around, but it's getting worn out. Several controller cord trips by inattentive roommates and my kids in later years have caused the controller ports to start acting up. Sometimes will lose connection to the controller. I've also run into an increasing number of disc read errors caused by the hardware (discs not scratched). The system is now old enough that I don't car...
Microsoft allows their customers to play their old games from the discs, no extra charge. Why can't Sony offer the same?
Edit: Do we absolutely know for certain that the games they've made available are actually being emulated rather than recompiled for PS4? People have been saying the PS2 logo on start-up is some kind of definitive proof of the PS2 BIOS being loaded. Do we know that to be, in fact, what is going on there? If we know for certain that the games ar...
Probably, but does it really need to be anything other than that?
Come on Ace Combat..... I have a lot of other requests too, but most have already been voiced.
Legend of Dragoon was 4 discs, but then again, I think that was a SCEA title, not Square Enix.
UMD on the PSP was proprietary, too. Literally, nothing except a PSP and whatever specialized hardware only found at Sony's HQ and manufacturing facilities can read UMD discs. There's no other commercially available reader for those things and still piracy was rampant. The new Vita card brings nothing new to the table other than a different, smaller shape and a more power-efficient reader than an optical drive. This clearly illustrates that a proprietary storage format alone does ...
Pretty sure this is misdemeanor shoplifting, not a felony. Dollar value of the goods isn't high enough to put it into felony territory.
Edit: Nevermind. Just checked the laws in Florida and the article is right. Qualifies for grand theft felony charge. Dang.
I wouldn't say "never". If they discussed it and found that it would be mutually beneficial, they'd probably do it. There's lot of pros that us consumers can see.
Less market fragmentation in terms of software compatibility
Less hardware to buy if you're the type that buys multiple systems
Less services to subscribe to (Live and PSN) that you could put toward more games
More studios producing games for your hardware
Lowered...
This is precisely why I suspect that Kojima is likely to start his own independent studio after he wraps up his work at Konami. I suppose it'll be unfortunate that he won't be able to take any of the IP with him. Probably time for something new anyway.
4 million units in 3.5 years in the most popular market? I wouldn't call that "selling like hotcakes" over there in the east either. It's a nice milestone, but one I think it should have hit 1-2 years ago at the latest. A few simple changes would have made the Vita better and cheaper. As their second gen portable, they were in a prime spot to fix all the shortcomings of the PSP, but they missed the mark in a few important areas that would have sealed the deal for a lot o...
Reminded me of the old Turok games, only more up to date, obviously. I liked the idea of the post apocalyptic devolved human race to a more primitive state that isn't set in a radioactive wasteland like Fallout. The only part that I found hard to swallow was the robo-dino's. I'm gonna need some more story to see how they explain that one.
Saga Frontier 1 & 2 HD and all new Saga Frontier 3! Come on, make it happen!
Maybe a new Ogre Battle game? Front Mission, maybe? Or a new Nobunaga's Ambition game? Any of those would be huge...
edit: Nevermind on the Nobunaga game. That was Koei. I was thinking it was Enix. Guess I was wrong.
Ummm, unless something has changed that I'm not aware of, the author should be pleading to Insomniac Games, not Sony. Sony didn't make the Resistance games.
Insomniac has already stated publically that they are done with Resistance. The story has been told and they aren't interested in picking it up again. They have a new Ratchet & Clank game and feature film in the works now. I thought I also heard something about a new Spyro game, too? Could be wrong on ...
Ptitanfall 2
From Sony, expect a huge chunk of time for Morpheus and little or no time for Vita. Mostly PS4 discussion with dwindling talk about PS3 as it starts it's fade toward EOL. We'll see either a slight price decrease or new bundles (additional HDD options?) available for PS4.
From MS, expect decent amount of time for HoloLens, but not as much as Sony talks about Morpheus. Expect little or no Kinect discussion outside of HoloLens usage. Probably a Gears and a Halo game ...
I've been waiting for Dummy Sku, like forever. How many times has it missed the listed release dates now?
Newton looks like a bloated pig in those pics and Luck's posture just looks odd. And those arms? WTF is up with those things? They look all weird.
Near impossible? The only way that would ever be possible would be if Sony bought out Nintendo or if Nintendo went the way of Sega and got out of the hardware business and started licensing their software out to others.
While true about the sales, beating the Wii U is a pretty low bar and not all that praise-worthy. I have a 1st-gen Vita w/OLED screen and while I love the device, I am thoroughly disappointed in the software support. Hardly any of the PlayStation franchises I know and love have made the jump to the Vita. I haven't purchased a game for mine in well over a year. All of the game carts I have for mine are the same ones I bought at launch with the exception of the last Madden game they mad...
