No votes for SaGa Frontier?
I wonder what the cover thing is for on the back side (left side as viewed from the back)? Any chance this thing is just a repackaged Vita TV and there's a slot there for Vita carts and/or memory cards?
Other than the last 2-3, aren’t all of those titles available on other systems? I think that’s at least part of the problem the Vita faced. That and the obvious cost issues for the hardware/memory cards that they never really addressed. Oh, and the nearly complete lack of any first, or even second-party, game development for all but the first year or two the system was on the market.
The bad PR would be worse if they did it and it turned out that there was communication issues between the networks that caused performance problems, possibly suggesting some sort of inferiority to the other platforms that are crossplaying, especially if the other consoles have no or lesser similar problems. People would naturally blame it on Sony's network, which may or may not be true. That would be far worse for them because it's a double-whammy. Poor reviews on the PS4 version ...
Vita 2 / PSP2 / whatever announcement! It’s not one anyone’s radar at all. Everyone is only worried about PS5 which is still 2-3 years off. A new portable announcement would be something totally out of left field and unexpected.
I know what you’re thinking... No F’ing way after how they handled Vita. You’re certainly right, of course. There’s probably not much sense in trying again in he portable market at this time. There is virtually zero chance of it happening....
I love my Vita, but I don’t play with it much. I’ve always found the oval shape a bit awkward and uncomfortable to hold. In places where it should be curving into my hand, it instead curves away. A rectangular shape would have been an improvement for me personally.
I’ve not been able to find a grip style on the system that feels natural without causing my fingers to be in places inconducive to using the buttons and seriously straining them at weird angles. The rear touc...
I’ve always suspected that Sony doesn’t want to take the chance that there could be performance issues during crossplay games that could in any way be construed as a shortcoming of Sony’s hardware rather than a problem with the game and/or server. I mean, many people already feel PSN performs poorer than XB Live. Any performance gaps, if any, here would be highlighted which might not look good for Sony.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not an Xbox fan. I’ve never owned an Xbox of...
No Rambo? I am disappoint. :(
AFAIK, PS4’s DVD-ROM drive cannot read CD’s at all. All PS1 Games were on CD-ROM. Many PS2 games were on CD-ROM, also, at least early on in the generation before DVD media and tooling was cheaper.
That said, it does seem odd that Sony has not made the PS1 classics line-up playable from the PSN store. Apparently they just haven’t spent any time porting their in-house emulator over to PS4. Other projects clearly have been higher priority.
Won’t ever? Ever hear of Chrono Cross?

“More powerful” doesn’t matter to me much if all it brings is just more of the same content. I’ve still got a lot of content on PS3 I'm still playing through let alone the PS4. I’m an old grognard. I don’t VR and I’ve still only got 1080p TV’s at home with no plans to upgrade unless one craps out or I’m given one at no cost.
Seems like more proof that the move to x86-based CPU architecture is having the effects we mostly all thought it would. If they stick with x86,...
The live demos are a double-edged sword. It’s nice to talk more in depth on a game or three during a show if it’s particularly interesting title. However, they also run the risk of glitches or other screw-ups which look really bad in front of a live audience full of gaming press and live-streamed to millions of potential customers. It also screws with the pacing of the presentations, bringing lots of highs and lows.
I would watch a 4 hour presentation if they could mak...
Big nope for me. It's an impressive box and all, but I've already got a PS4 and Xbox has no exclusives I want badly enough to buy another box to play. Even my PS4 has gotten suprisingly little use lately. Been playing my PS3, RetroPie box, and my SNES Classic more than anything lately.
Actually, I don't think a regular driver's license is a pre-requisite at all because they are racing on a closed circuit race course which is considered off-road driving. In the US, at least, a regular driver's license is only required for operation on public motorways and even then there are exemptions for things like farmers where underage kids sometimes need to drive vehicles or equipment down the road while working at the family farm.
Interesting article h...
I think "gambling" is the wrong word. Gambling implies that there's a chance you don't win a prize. This is a retail purchase of a randomized digital good. It's no different than the toys sold in blind packaging where you don't know which exact toy you're going to get. Same for baseball cards or collectible card games. You are absolutely getting something in return for your money, you just don't know what it will be at the time of purchase, and that'...
Uhh.... Was already done last year.... Official EU PS Blog even mentioned it.

I don't understand why they can't continue to take pre-orders for subsequent shipments. Sell all they can and fulfill orders as shipments come in. Obviously, they probably can't guarantee a wait time in that situation, but as long as that is disclosed at time the pre-order is placed, then I don't see how that is a problem.
Or the same old PSVR at a new, lower price.
I don’t know, but I do wonder how many people will be a bit gun-shy to buy in early after the big mid-cycle hardware upgrades we got this generation? I feel like they (MS and Sony both) should be doing something to make their systems more modular and PC-like so we only need to upgrade the CPU, GPU, RAM, or whatever instead of trying to sell us a whole new box mid-cycle again.
