Sony showed detailed specs and loads of games. MS showed neither. Not good for a gaming console reveal.
This fact alone made MS a laughing stock. I hope for the many millions of 360 owners they see enough in E3 to please them.
After very weak E3 showings in the past for MS they are due a strong line-up. I want to see what their money can buy.
Never gonna happen. Same as FF Versus.
Why were both promised?
GTA 4 had exclusive first-DLC for 360 before Sony got the crumbs. And FF was linked to Sony brand then they went multi-platform and Versus was supposed to be the sweetener.
I hate paid-for exclusivity on both sides. If you don't want to sell the DLC to all then don't release your game on less-preferred platform. Simples...
Not hated. You pays your money, you takes your choice.
Bought MW2 and traded in after a week and spent money on Uncharted 2. Best trade-in ever for me.
But many people love the on-line. I just thought the single-player sucked.
This gen belongs to gamers!
No more developer excuses on "box to hard to develop for" or "not enough Ram".
Let's forget the silly console wars of the past and just enjoy great gaming. I'll still play my PS3 for years to come yet. And I'll be buying my choice of console this holiday.
A strong single player experience with an actual story would be nice!
Having watched the last 2 years I can only hope MS have a better showing. Sony showed games and lots of them but MS were poor.
Only very biased opinions would differ. Lets all be honest for a change and watch the new consoles games with open eyes and rejoice with the great gaming to come this gen.
Can't wait to see what can be developed over the next few years with so much Ram available. No excuses from developers now!
Surprised on the controller vote, but also can't believe over 21,000 voted MS conference. Be honest with yourselves.
From IGN? Wow! They have always seemed a very pro-Xbox and Anti-Sony site along with Gamespot. Are all gaming sites now going to judge consoles on their merits?
The tide has turned. But I still hate biased journalists - regardless of which side they take. We look to them for impartial views. They let them selves down last time. Redemption t...
Never bothered me when I bought a PS3. It won't bother me this time either.
It's the price to pay for progress.
I'll play PS3 games on PS3. Granted the PS4 will have the ability to play PS1, PS2 & PS3 games via their game streaming cloud system - nice to have. But it's not a deal breaker.
Remember the wii. How many did that sell?
The 360 and PS3 were a lot closer in power. There seems a bigger difference this time around.
Now Xboxone ain't that bad in tech. specs. But consider the extra grunt of PS4 and many custom chips for encryption, downloading, sharing, and low power-state (hibernation). The PS4 ends up being a decent gaming rig for the price at today's PC standards.
Then take Xbox One's focus on TV/Multimedia...
MS have a massive marketing budget. But they can take the hit if it all fails.
Sony have shocked everyone, me included, with their strong tech, developer driven and multi-chip gaming device. MS seems to have dropped the ball in that regard. 30-50% less grunt ain't even close.
Now the biggest problem for MS in their quest for living room dominance is the size of the Box & Kinnect. They are huge. All devices seem to get slimmer and sleeker. For a gaming...
Defeat is the wrong word. Lets all be thankful for the stiff competition between the 360 & PS3 because without it we wouldn't be getting the PS4.
PS4 will be the strongest gaming console in terms of games & performance. We should see some amazing games overs the next 5-10 years. The shackles have been released.
The Xbox One will continue to get exclusive content on GTA/COD type games. MS have bottom-less pits of money for advertising so expect to ...
Can't wait to see what developers can do when games actually get released for both consoles.
There's no doubting the PS4 has a bigger advantage this time around. Just look at how detailed there reveal was regarding tech and how quickly MS rushed through their description.
I was not expecting such a clear cut difference. But I never anticipated the whole TV Box stuff either. Will multi-platform games stay the same or will developers get called out this...
Those Japanese and their 10-year life cycles. Guess they may just know a thing or two.
They should make PCs so we don't have to upgrade every 5 years or so...
Edit: Will be glad when the console war is officially declared over and we can just all swap thoughts on great games.
Keeps AMD in the game so fair play to them...
MS made sure all multi-platform games were the same so the PS3 version could not have the better graphics it MAY have produced.
Just an example of MS & developers agreement without Sony's consent. So it can happen.
I have bought a few PS3 second-hand games on the cheap. And you know what?
I also went on-line and bought the DLC because I liked the game. This is where they get there money back..
You are correct about phones. But most of the time they are passive because they are in our pockets/bags and not facing the living room/bedroom.
And we all know the risks with phones. That is why we can buy cheap throw-away pay as you go phones and cards with no ID info whatsoever.
This may be a step too far. We need clarification else I can see all new XBoxes being recalled and the OS having to be re-vamped.
It is THAT big of a deal!
You obviously are not a parent. So I understand if you are not that concerned.
I only looked at the obvious marketing ploy. MS need to clarify just what/why the camera usage during any game.
We must be reading this thing wrong. It cannot be that blatant.
I want to pre-order but with all this buzz and excitement I may go to a launch-event to get mine.
I'll happily wait outside all night in the freezing cold just to be in line to actually get my hands on one.
I want to be guaranteed I get mine on Day 0.
Pre-orders can't give that if they receive too many orders. Maybe Sony & MS will instruct these outlets just how many they will give them on launch day.
