I did read somewhere after the PS4 reveal that the Killzone developers said they were interested in getting more action and a better environment on the screen than hitting a specific fps.
And I agree. The new gen with huge Ram by comparison should be able to create exciting new worlds with awesome environments and loads happening at the same time. This is more important to me. But I do want them to look as good as they can as well.
My following comment is not meant to offend the millions of loyal Xbox 360 fans. It is aimed at Microsoft.
They are not convincing anyone in the gaming community that their TVbox is a true gaming machine. What do you do when you are struggling and desperation hits? Look to the stars, sorry to the cloud, for help...
Never been a fan of conspiracy theories but years from now we may look back at this massive cloud and always on camera as the beginning of something else.
Not even Google Earth could possibly get this close to us!
".. I always feel like somebodies watching me, can't get no privacy. Whoa" - from the great American prophet Rockwell.
Its hardly a surprise following this week's reveal. One telling observation I have made reading this forum after both reveals:
After PS4 reveal, many PC gamers were getting involved as they saw a possible threat from Sony.
After the MS reveal I have not read any/many comments from PC gamers. They don't see MS as any kind of threat with the new console.
In fact many PC gamers seem to have a healthy respect for what the PS4 is trying to achieve...
I was surprised watching the PS4 reveal just how game & developer focused Sony were. I mean they have bent over backwards to listen to developers when making their new console and even took tips from their studios over the controller.
I do respect Sony for quality hardware but never expected just how focused these guys seemed over bringing the best possible console and gaming system for the money.
Is it a Japanese thing that they have love for their crea...
No trailer in 3 months in response to PS4 awesome trailers. I was suspicious. But there was a glimmer of hope. That has been well and truly dashed this week.
We will see many cool integration trailers but not spectacular from MS. I also expect many new features and cool PS Vita integration from Sony but with kick-ass new trailers.
The WiiU & PS Vita have been offered a lifeline.
I love awesome game trailers and hope to see many at E3 from...
Is this the end of the console war as we know it? It just might be.
It was rather silly anyhow but with the 360 & PS3 being so close technically a bitter rivalry seemed to develop amongst gamers regarding their choice of gaming.
Today it feels like the fog has lifted and we can all just embrace gaming on the PS4 regardless of what you currently own. It does not matter any more.
Lets all join together again and enjoy the beauty of great ga...
PS4 seems to have more real-world power if the trailers are anything to go by. I thought I was having slow internet speeds during the COD demo. It looked the same as current systems.
If MS has more power to offer they are being very clever about it. The one advantage Microsoft have is they will spend millions more on advertising than anyone else. They have money to throw away.
Because of this people will buy the TV gaming box. But if you want great looking ga...
Do you know what's really weird? Having endured all the XBox 360 vs PS3 verbal fisticuffs on this site and many others over the past years its almost over so quickly.
One of them (did you like that?) has just left the fight. Without so much as a whimper.
What are we all going to argue about now? We all now know by a very large margin which console and company are games focused and the most powerful in terms of graphics.
It's like wak...
I must say a well balanced article and very readable (The Eurogamer one linked at the second comment). I have learnt more from this 5 minute read than from the reveal itself.
Sad to see the Brick power supply still in action in 2013. The batteries in the controller must be because Sony hold the rights to rechargeable inbuilt controllers. Will a lead be included or do you have to buy it?
And not the propriety hard disk again! Come on, MS - learn the lessons. O...
What do people expect. It was at MS Campus.
The real question is why they had to stage it there? Did they know just how bad it was going to be?
The lack of trailers makes no sense. Whether 3 weeks or 3 months to E3 if Sony can show loads of games and still have massive announcements then so can MS.
The lack of focus on games and the tech inside is a worry. Are the rumours of late software really true? That would be an awful release come the ...
After waking up from the night before - yes, it was really that bad.
May after watch the PS4 reveal again. Was it really all about games, awesome tech, custom chips for downloading, developers and great games?
How could Microsoft be so off the ball?
Am I the only one that missed the part where you have to pay for pre-owned games?
Its a sad day for the Xbox. After watching both reveals I am no clearer as to how powerful the Xbox is and what cool gaming features it offers.
I saw many cool features from the PS4 reveal and also saw many games. Are MS hiding something, or is that it?
As to buying both consoles - why buy for the sake of it? I will get a PS4 but can not see what an Xbox One will give me right now. Any one care to list any valid reasons to buy one on this showing?
Sony showed loads of games and I liked the new features:
* Share button to relive those moments when I get past a hard part of a game
* Download 1st part of game and start playing while rest downloads
* Watch friends gameplay live and also take over if they are stuck
* Carry on game with vita when I'm out
* Very high specs and unified Ram
* Developers asked what they wanted from a console
* New controller features

MS have Millions to spend on advertising. They may just get the wii audience. Gamers beware!
Liked Skype, Voice interaction was cool but lack of specs makes me think PS4 is way more powerful already - add an extra 2 OS's to run and less umphh for games.
Its size and possible noise means I won't put it by my TV and Cable box any time soon. Hope E3 brings new games..
funny - but don't kick it when it's down...
I thought his comments were quite funny.. Lighten up guys.
After watching the whole of both conferences I agree with 1-4, & 9-11. Can't comment on Kinect - never used it.
But I was starting to get excited when they first talked about the TV controlling but I got a bit deflated when I realised that was pretty much it.
I had hoped for more. I wanted a reason to buy a XBox One. There's always E3.
Gotta say I did not expect all the stuff to be so BIG!!
I guess the PS4 will be big as well. But I hope it has a better shape to it. Looks like a micro desktop PC you put a monitor on top of.
Loved the idea of the TV stuff but a bit deflated about the lack of specs and games. Seemed all a bit flat...
Watch those wiiU numbers jump in the coming weeks and months thanks to the less than impressive reveal this week from MS.
