To be fair, whenever you are hosting an event with an audience it’s standard to hype them up as a reactive audience is better for the energy in the room which translates well for viewers at home. The entitlement of nerds! I get it, but also the old E3 era is dead (for now) Sony and Microsoft do not need to compete so that’s why there isn’t these big competitive events designed to win hearts and mindshare. Although I still hope they will be a live conference next year with members of the public who truly would give the event an atmosphere that is appreciated in millions of homes of gamers around the world.
Personally, I thought it was alright. No there wasn't megaton announcements but I wasn't expecting any. The show was shorter at two hours and it seemed to go by quite breezily. Better this than nothing.

When the story trailer began I could tell it was a well envisioned world and characters and lore - but that seems to be wasted on a hero shooter. Why not make the whole package like classic Halo, where there is a single player campaign that is enjoyable and immerses you in the world AND have the multiplayer aspect?
I don't really play much online but the mechanics looked fun. Perhaps this game, like Helldivers II that had no pre-release hype, will find an audience.

But like with the many Xbox YouTubers who celebrated the ABK purchase by Microsoft who didn't consider the possible negative consequences for the console platform they enjoy most, I wonder if you have considered this could be a damaging move for the Xbox ecosystem? I'm not sure how this move will play out but I do think it could devalue the Call of Duty brand Microsoft paid so much for.
Also, if after the release Microsoft compares sales revenue of the game on Xbox compared to last year, and then logically it will be less as Xbox gamers will be able to get it for 'free'. If it then looks to see if Game Pass new subscriber revenue makes up for the loss profits - if it doesn't It could potentially be the nail in the coff...

I haven't been playing too much recently except a bit of Dave the Diver (retro pixel art). But if this has the best graphics then I definitely want to see so will download it for my XSX and start the game. If I had more time I'd play through the first one first.
