@-Foxtrot I agree with everything you say about the generic stuff. But what I played of the beta the controls felt fine, reminded me of Halo - that's a good thing but it's not enough. I'm not the key audience for this type of game as I don't play multiplayer online regularly, but the characters and world do matter and I found them lacking. The PS5 Pro is a deliberately premium console only for the enthusiasts who really want it. For everyone else the standard model is fine, it runs the same games.

I’m not fussed about any of these games and to be honest I don’t think I even care. I spend more time reading about games on N4G or watching YouTubers talk about them. I don’t think gamers want it to fail.
Before the first gameplay trailer people were eager to learn what the game was about. Along with hundreds of others I watched a streamer watch it, and in real time I saw many people’s reaction (via their comments). There was a lot of expectation and this wasn’t a great single player FPS or multiplayer game, it was a generic shooter for 5v5 play that seemed bare bones. Underwhelmed was the common reaction.

I suspect next year the release window gap between Xbox and the later PS5 release will decrease even more, until they become day and date.
