@TheEroica That’s claimed can be levelled at all the people who ‘beta test’ Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on launch day prior to its fully specced out PS5 Pro release.
Hints from Microsoft and Digital Foundry seem to think that the next Xbox will not be a traditional console, and will be a Steam Deck home - i.e. a customised PC.
The comparison by the website is not a good one. Nintendo has gone on record to say that it doesn’t sell its consoles at a loss. It was able to keep the sale price of the Switch down because it does not have cutting edge technology compared to the other platforms. Likewise when it launches Switch 2 the specs will not be competing with XSX & PS5 and so the sale price will be less. Microsoft and Sony’s core consoles do have more computer power which is expensive, but they are mass market d...
‘Good guy Phil’?
The truth likely is that the decision was not his to make and is possibly a direct consequence of cutting costs following the ABK deal.
Good point made, it’s like telling a meat eater to eat a vegetarian burger because no animals die to make it and it doesn’t contribute to climate change. That’s all well and good but a meat eater is not in the market for a soya burger - he or she wants meat!
PC may well be superior for specs but console buyers tend to get consoles for the plug and play ease of use - ignoring that distinction in buyer intent is naive.
Every outlet taking the SAME angle just as with the mainstream media by giving more weight to the people who were never gonna buy it rather than the people who it was made for. My prediction; it will sell out.
@romulus23. Even if no one else did I got it - bravo! 🤣
Night in the Woods is a lovely little indie graphic adventure. Alec Holowka conceptualised the game, the story and characters and made the beautiful music and was effectively murdered by the woke video game journalists who dog piled on top of him following false allegations.
This is one of the reasons I can’t stand most of these people, because they have no understanding of journalistic ethics which led to this poor man taking his own life.
I want MGS Collection V1 but haven’t bought it yet. Recently, I believe Konami said they will continue to improve it.

@RaidenBlack The majority of the people complaining are those who never intended to buy it, as with the PS Portal. It’s an optional extra for those enthusiasts who really want it, but the core console remains on sale. I will get maybe 40% off the price from selling my PS5 so will end up paying maybe £400. Will playing games in 4k 60fps with RT change my life? No, but I like that over the next 4+ years until PS6 I will be experiencing the best version of games, it’s why I’d rather play th...
It’s a lot but it’s meant to be premium. I will get it.
If Ubisoft includes more diverse characters so gamers can see themselves on screen, then it will appeal to more people.
Obscure_Observer would like the option to have blue-hair options for their characters.
‘Technical presentation’ - I wonder what the frig this could be about?
When it comes to video game previews I’m of the opinion that journalists should maintain a position of CAUTIOUS OPTIMISM. Yes, note and share concerns about the game with readers but maintain a restrained optimistic stance until actually having reviewed it so that any negativity is based on the game’s quality and not the author’s prejudices.
Here the author writes “ I’m going to continue to keep my cynicisms intact, less so because of my trust in MachineGames and more so du...
I believe that the Final Fantasy VII will be console-exclusive to PlayStation until after all three parts of the series have been released. I base this on Sony having some kind of strong financial involvement, whether this be just the known marketing or perhaps contributing to development costs, and the fact that FFVIIR was released in 2020 and four years later hasn't been released on Xbox - which is beyond a standard one or two year exclusivity window.
Maybe the deal itself is bad, but the benefit could be introducing the song to a new generation which might be then used in TikTok's and picked up by other advertisers. There was a soul- dance track used in GTA: San Andreas that was rereleased because of people being interested in it and it went on to do really well.
If Square Enix & Nintendo are his hometown what does that make Xbox?
GameRant ScreenRant family + Kotaku earning their keep for their promotional trip.
I haven’t played it yet, but if the appearances are of iconic characters and games from PlayStation’s early history then back in the day the lead football game was Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) which was reviewed better and sold more.
The figures are estimates by a third party.
