If anything or anyone is a ‘bummer’ it’s the author Kenneth Shepard who is a big supporter of ideological based interactive experiences like Dustborn and hates ‘gamers’. The majority of his recent content is low effort reactions to Sonic TV or movies news.

@Demetrius I know you’re trolling but your analogy is a bad one because you are saying PS5 is inferior to Switch 2 because it doesn’t have backwards compatibility with the generation before last, the PS3 generation, in comparison to the, as yet unreleased, Switch 2 which will likely have backwards compatibility with its previous generation the Switch 1. But like the Switch 2, PS5 does have BC work its previous generation the PS4 generation.
If the Switch 2 has backwards co...
@-Foxtrot You know, I was half-memeing about the Nintendo issue. But the writer of the IGN review explicitly explains that comparisons to Super Mario is the reason why he didn’t give Astro Bot a 10/10.
IGN Simon Cardy: “For those asking why not a 10 I just felt it didn't quite hit the masterpiece heights of the likes of Mario Galaxy and Odyssey, but it is about as far as Nintendo has been pushed regarding platformers.”
Of course he should compare it t...
This praise doesn’t wipe out Paul Tassi’s recent untruths about Black Myth Wukong that Sony had moneyhatted it to prevent Xbox versions which he had to walk back. What a chump.
@darthv72 For sure!
"Hello PlayStation fans! As we celebrate this Friday’s upcoming release of Astro Bot, Team Asobi’s tribute to 30 years of iconic PlayStation characters, stories, and magical moments, we want to thank you for the love and passion you’ve shown for PlayStation."
So the game is not just an Astro Bot game, it is specifically a full game tribute to the PlayStation legacy.
Who said I was joking.
NGL if this was a Nintendo game it would be getting elevens all round.
‘The best 3D platformer in a decade’! Praise indeed. I was sold from the minute I started playing Astro’s Playroom and wished for more. This might sound silly but as adult I might want to rekindle that festive season spirit and save it for Christmas Day. 100% I’m getting it, I hope all the people who criticise GaaS games and lament a lack of single player give this a try.
Only 98/100? To be honest I’d thought it would fair better, so I might just sit this one out until it’s discounted to a price that reflects the quality.
'Greetings from Concordia'?!!! 😆
The timing is delicious - Nintendo has got to be trolling Sony with this.

Okay, so unfounded speculation time! What if Microsoft wants to accelerate its departure from the loss inducing console hardware business so it’s deliberately making these moves! So Xbox owners who care about third party games voluntarily migrate to other platforms without causing a PR storm that would happen by suddenly shutting down Xbox. Just a thought!
@The Wood The issue for Sony is that making these super expensive single player games like Spider-man 2 and God of War 2 could be hugely financially damaging IF they flop because of the financial investment. A successful GaaS can mean years of profit like Genshin Impact. I believe Sony has to continue to try and discover its own as the console business might change. It’s just Concord, and half baked.
Holy moly this got serious.
At least Sony is offering no-fuss refunds. Although I wonder if the game is so damaged that people will refuse to download it now even if it goes free to play. With hindsight, it may be that Sony will say that it should have reevaluated the business model straight after it gauged the reaction to the beta instead of charging ahead regardless. I also wonder if other publishers will learn lessons from this and Suicide Squad.
I saw a guy on Twitter a couple of days ago showing of his Concord platinum trophy and celebrating its rarity - that will likely be 1000x now! Unless Sony retracts the trophies - which i don’t think it needs to.
@RSow on the N4G homepage you only see the headline. I now understand how you got your name.
@Deathdeliverer ‘A hurt dog will holler’. I’ve never heard that before but I get the meaning. Thank you for sharing your truth.
@Deathdeliverer You don’t need to apologise. You recounting your first-hand lived experience really helped underline your point.
@kamper It doesn’t say any of that in the headline.
@Phoenix76 My educated GUESS is that Sony didn’t pay a penny for any of the guest appearances. The deal would likely have been that Sony features the characters for free and publishers agreed because it functions as positive promotion and advertising for their brands that costs them nothing.
