It's not impressive when PS4 Pro at It's lowest resolution bounds is holding on to 30FPS just about as well as Switch 2 in performance mode. The advantage at stress points could be more than 300% favoring PS4 Pro. So, while the games don't look all that different at a glance there's a world between them computationally speaking. Given the differences it can seem like I'm only proving your point, but there are similarly capable systems running the same games at the same ene...

It will only get worse from here. The PS4 version of Fortnite probably still looks significantly better than Switch 2. We already see PS4 looking better in No Man's Sky, and Hitman and there are shared assets between PS4 and Switch 2 in HogLeg trailers. Switch 2 is firmly in last-gen territory computationally speaking.

Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't even look or run significantly better than it did on PS4 Pro here and that's including Switch 2's 40FPS performance mo...

It would be a flex... if it were true.
It's not true.

I've watched the video the article refers to and even commented on it. People rightfully pointed out things I missed and upon further inspection I noted things that we all missed on our first passes. Ultimately, Switch 2 often has worse textures, geometry, and performance on top of the much lower native rendering resolution. Switch 2 is way behind Xbox One X on every level if it's firmly behind the P...

"Cyberpunk 2077 Outperforms PS4 Pro and Matches Xbox Series S on Nintendo Switch 2"
Bait.
From the video description:
PS4 Pro: Dynamic 1188p 30fps (from 1080-972p)
Nintendo Switch 2: Docked: Quality Mode: Upscaled 1080p30 with DLSS (720p~635p) Performance Mode: Upscaled 1080p/~40fps with DLSS (635~540p) Handheld: Quality Mode: Upscaled 1080p30 with DLSS (635p~504p) Performance Mode: Upscaled 720p~40fps with DLSS (540~480p)

Not only are they saying that, but they're also saying that Nintendo's far smaller selection and the wait for future GC games is worth it while PS' much larger selection isn't. The only justification they can put forth for such lunacy is that Nintendo's subscription service is much cheaper over an entire year and to that... well it's opinion based. Personally, I don't have a lot of nostalgia or love for a lot of these games being released either way, but I've b...

So, you're saying that PS is in a different league?

241d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

@FinalFantasyFanatic
That seems true only if you use Steam Guard. If you opted for T2A via SMS the article suggests it's time to make the switch to Steam Guard and of course change your password.

@Christopher
Where are you getting that from?
The linked article above says, "The seller claims this is a “fresh” leak and says it includes usernames, passwords, two-factor SMS logs, message contents, metadata, delivery status, and other sensitive details." Which sure sounds like they might have a lot of other information. If this leak is legitimate I better stop hearing people falsely say PSN is the worst secured digital storefront (even though that hasn't bee...

It wouldn't matter if 99.999+% are buying digitally. If the game passed QA and is playable from beginning to end before subsequent patches, then that full game should be on the disc in its entirety and if it's too large to fit on a triple layer 75GB BD-ROM then the requisite number of discs should come in the retail box to finalize the installation on the target HW. This should be the rule for EVERY PUBLISHER, but especially where there is no mention on the pac...

Indeed. Eventually, people will wake up to the economic reality of decoupling our currency with tangible commodities like gold, trading it in for infinite growth in the form of GDP.

Missing the forest for the trees. Asking less isn't going to make games better either. What is wrong is that there are too many suits trying to play with math to beat the market before the market makes a decision.

@Michiel1989
1994 to 2013 wasn't 20 years and why are you ignoring the fact that consoles were more powerful than PCs with more memory until just before PS3 launched where PCs had options for way more memory, but were still significantly weaker on the computational front? Hm... I can only imagine why you are ignoring those facts.

Today, PCs are much more powerful than consoles on paper with dozens to hundreds of GB of RAM available to each machine where high-en...

Piracy only lasts as long as stuff exists to pirate. Marinate on that for a while.

275d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Piracy is never the answer for new content and if you do pirate, you wanted the software to begin with [Edit: by pirating you also help to lessen chances of future game software you like coming into existence, especially content made by small publishers, but only sold on any service or device you'd rather not buy, piracy is just often bad and wrong. Almost all of us do it anyway, but people should be smart about what they steal - that's what piracy is in the end no matter how anyone t...

There's are strong arguments for increasing ticket prices at theaters around the world, especially in the West, mostly caused by rising minimum wages. As for movies they cost more than $40 sometimes. There seems to really be no standardized movie pricing though, I'll give you that.

"By that logic, Take Two can charge $200 for GTA 6..."
And we can do a fullstop right there and say that logic holds. Take Two can charge whatever they want for what they made.
I also agree with you that it doesn't mean they will make their money back. If the barrier to entry is too high people won't care and they will also be more critical of their purchase. It's why many are disgruntled about expensive AAA games today. They cost more than they have in...

[Edit: @Gameseeker_Frampt]
You can get your arse off the couch and buy the game at a store, new for less than you would pay on the PS Store. Additionally, I'm sure that every 1st party game was already discounted more than once on the PS Store. I pre-ordered MSM:MM/2 and R&C as well as HFW, but I didn't pick up GT7 day one due to always online requirements. I did eventually cave-in and buy GT7, but only at $30 or so off about 6 months after launch... on the PS Store. So, ...

If players would buy $500 for games, Nintendo would already be trying to charge them $599. Nintendo knows this is a risk. I hope gamers don't cave on this, if they do this will become normal and that includes prices for PC games at launch, which have always followed the pricing schemes of major console publishers. It's why PC games cost $70 now at launch, too.
