They always were, it's just more obvious when they try to squeeze your wallet like this.
$200 million is 25.5% of Trump's estimated weath per Forbes, according to Wikipedia (June 2, 2025, in case you are reading this way in to the future).
Of course. It totally explains why Steam Deck and PS5 are unaffected by the not at all obvious greed of Nintendo and Xbox.
I guess PS & Steam being globally headquartered in America prevent them from being affected by tariffs. Chinese businesses like Xbox which is obviously a Chinese enterprise come on the "X" stands for "Xi Jinping" and it's headquartered in Redmond, China. I mean, come on! Then there's Nintendo, headquarted in Kyoto, China is not a J...
@anast
PS5 is more expensive because it's more powerful hardware. Switch 2 is as expensive as an all digital PS5 despite being way weaker than a PS5. Why is Switch 2 pricing comparable to the more flexible middle of the road Steam Deck? The standard Steam Deck units are cheaper than Switch 2's base asking price. How did Nintendo think it's fine to ask more for hardware that in practice is barely any better? Why isn't Steam Deck going up in price? Why did PS5 go down i...
How is PS paying for it? It's the only manufacturer that has yet to increase prices on HW or accessories in the US. PS+ price increases went into effect in April well before any tariffs were finalized, but it doesn’t matter as the tariffs have no dorect affect on any digital services.
Elections have consequences indeed... So, PS and Trump must be best buddies because they didn't increase prices in the US and in regions that did see a maximum of $40 increases on the base model PS5s their accessory prices went down in the same regions.
People are complaining about SIE's April 2025's PS+ price increases which also have nothing to do with import tariffs either as they're digital services, which aren't affected by import tariffs.
If this had anything to do with import tariffs in the US... Then, why isn't PS raising prices in the US?
If US tariffs are to blame why is PS, which is a Japanese company making and shipping PS5s manufactured in China to customers in the US, where imports from China are the single largest target of Trump's tariffs, yet completely unaffected by Trump's tariffs in the US where there were no price increases in 2025 with nothing on the horizon, so far?
Meanwhile Xbox raised prices of all HW and accessories globally by $80 to $120 depending on the console with accessories i...
So, US tariffs are so bad that only Nintendo is affected? Only Switch 2 is going up in price globally while other consoles are staying the same price since before Switch 2 launched. Xbox raised prices allegedly $100 globally, while PS raised prices of the standard and digital PS5 by $40 in 4 Western regions, excluding the US Pro's price is unchanged and some PS5 accessories also went down in price in the same regions seeing price adjustments.
So, reportedly, an Australian activist group by the name of "Collective Shout" has pressured payment processors to stop selling "s*xually violent," "r*pe," and "incest" games hosted on Steam and Itch.io... why didn't they redact letters from "incest" I wonder?
This organization claims to be independent, but I have my reservations that they aren't leaning hard to one political side just based on how they write the wor...
@gigoran8
Correct! This appears to basically be the result of globalization and lazy corporations.
Apparently no one reads anymore. If only those we were replying to understood that this has potentially been covered already.

What is this talk about religious zealotry being the cause of AO game removals from digital storefronts? I already shutdown Nacogi's ridiculous claims that an introduced bill potentially years from becoming law, where in this case the bill is malformed and unlikely to become a law at all - assuming lawyers are okay at their jobs. Or else I'm missing something because I'm not a lawyer, but in my non-lawyerly opinion, this bill can not become a law because it tries to remove somethi...
🤣 Someone needs to learn how to read. This bill was introduced in May of 2025. This bill is still in the earliest stage of becoming a law. I'm not convinced that Republicans would sign it if is says what you claim. So what's the bill say?

SIE... PS has no choice but to fight because the settlement was rejected. I'm not sure if that judgment can be appealed or not. I don't doubt that this is another fraudulent lawsuit and I do doubt that Nintendo will be sued for doing the very same thing. MS' Xbox division is the only publisher of the big 3 that still sells full game codes at retailers. My money is on MS spurring this lawsuit on as they did with Immersion and PS back in 2004 or so. That wound up hurting everyone bu...
I'm confused about this, too because at least one of the sites you listed says it has PSN codes. So, why are some places not allowed to sell PSN cards and others are?
No one cares that Nintendo stopped selling 1st party game codes across Europe in 2020 and is ending it's game voucher program globally in before February 2026.
@CRASHBASHUK
That program ends January 30th 2026

Nintendo stopped selling full game codes for their 1st party games in 2020 across Europe (the most well-regulated market on Earth) and no one gave a single s•••.
The people replying here don't know about this, "Nintendo has decided to scrap the sale of digital download codes for its games at European retailers, effective from 1st July, 2020.
For years now, Nintendo fans have had a number of different ways to purchase their favourite games. You can ... even buy a download code for certain games from your favourite - and often cheaper - retailers. ... Nintendo has confirmed the decision to end the availability of download cod...
Sony didn't stop selling anything. PlayStation is a separate company and they stopped allowing gift cards (or Fast Cards in America) to make key codes for retail. Their reasoning per GameStop at the time was no deeper than to keep things in line with the rest of the world. Which part of the world? No idea, PS never responded to this issue at all. I'm not sure why the lawsuit claims it's Sony Corp on the hook for this when the article lists "Sony Interactive Entertainment"...
That isn't what's going to happen here.
Out of curiosity I checked, and wouldn't you know it? People from Madagascar look more Polynesian than African. I mean UN isn't what I'd call trustworthy anymore, but I don't think they and several other sources would take pictures of all the tourists to whitewash the ethnicity of the island.
