The lie spread around the world. It's very unfortunate.

Well this fud was debunked within a day (live interpretive translation vs direct translation). But don't let it stop you from pushing the narrative that PS will abandon hardware and fo full 3rd party publishing. Everyone here knows some users will.

I don't mind PS making LS games. It obviously just can't replace what I play games for. The sad fact is that you know as well as I do that we are in the minority. If PS goes full always online LS (FAOLS? Maybe FOLS? I don't know), then I'll stop gaming. Nintendo lost me decades ago and I still fleeced myself by getting a 3DS and then a N3DSXL, but since then I've cut myself off from their crap. Xbox lost me as soon as they got me with ads on the 360's dashdoard. PC los...

@Lightning77
That doesn't mean it isn't also live service, especially since each game is updated throughout the year these days. Additionally, there are season passes and microtransactions and while an online connection isn't required to play a decent chunk of the features many players want are tied to being online.

It's the best of all the worst gamers complain about today.

What live service games did PS release this quarter? What games did PS release this quarter? Does Death Stranding 2 even count?
The reality is that live service games weren't released this year. Yet that tiny number of 1st party live service games alone made up 40% of PS' revenue -last quarter- [Q1 2025, not last quarter].

Let that sink in.

Nintendo is already chasing live service.
If you think PS will release every game on other platforms, especially day and date. That hasn't happened until recently and only with live service games for obvious reasons. To generate more revenue.

PS still understands that they can't release games like Ghost of Yotei on PC or any other platform day and date as that dilutes the brand. It's also possible that GoY will not be released on PC officially at any po...

The lie already spread the world over several times. It's the first I'm hearing about of any of this.
It's remarkable that anyone would believe that PS is going 3rd party totally abandoning HW, but there are a lot of dense melons out there.

How do you do that without payment processors? Oh, right, you can't. Even Steam gift cards are processed by FastCard which is owned by InComm. Who is InComm's payment processor? I have no idea, but if they can be pursuaded by an activist group then this option isn't going to help.

"However, it seems that these price hikes are driven by economics, especially given the uncertainty of the tariffs that President Trump applied the U.S.’s trading partners. We can't directly blame tariffs for the increasing costs of these consoles, though, as Canada was also affected by these price increases." - 164d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

The people of Madagascar are called Malagasy and they look like a mix of Asian and African with stereotypical phenotypes in that order.

The Malagasy people actually kind of look very Asian because they're ancestors are from Africa and Asia. But the admixture is slightly more Asian than African, which makes more sense given how many of these people appear Asian and how prominent the Asian facial features are. Skin color, shape of the palpebral fissure, and hair texture vary across the island, but generally the character as depicted in the game looks like a person from Madagascar. I'm not saying the other depiction look...

Apparently, Malagasy people have yet to chime in. When looking into what the people of Madagascar look like I stumbled on a French language blog from within the nation which published the article about this very character.

As it would happen Malagasy people look kind of Asian, because they're ancestry traces back to Borneo, which is in Asia.

Out of curiosity I checked, and wouldn't you know it? People from Madagascar look more Polynesian than African. I mean UN isn't what I'd call trustworthy anymore, but I don't think they and several other sources would take pictures of all the tourists to whitewash the ethnicity of the island.

Some sources:

They always were, it's just more obvious when they try to squeeze your wallet like this.

$200 million is 25.5% of Trump's estimated weath per Forbes, according to Wikipedia (June 2, 2025, in case you are reading this way in to the future).

Of course. It totally explains why Steam Deck and PS5 are unaffected by the not at all obvious greed of Nintendo and Xbox.
I guess PS & Steam being globally headquartered in America prevent them from being affected by tariffs. Chinese businesses like Xbox which is obviously a Chinese enterprise come on the "X" stands for "Xi Jinping" and it's headquartered in Redmond, China. I mean, come on! Then there's Nintendo, headquarted in Kyoto, China is not a J...

@anast
PS5 is more expensive because it's more powerful hardware. Switch 2 is as expensive as an all digital PS5 despite being way weaker than a PS5. Why is Switch 2 pricing comparable to the more flexible middle of the road Steam Deck? The standard Steam Deck units are cheaper than Switch 2's base asking price. How did Nintendo think it's fine to ask more for hardware that in practice is barely any better? Why isn't Steam Deck going up in price? Why did PS5 go down i...

How is PS paying for it? It's the only manufacturer that has yet to increase prices on HW or accessories in the US. PS+ price increases went into effect in April well before any tariffs were finalized, but it doesn’t matter as the tariffs have no dorect affect on any digital services.

166d ago 0 agree2 disagreeView comment

Elections have consequences indeed... So, PS and Trump must be best buddies because they didn't increase prices in the US and in regions that did see a maximum of $40 increases on the base model PS5s their accessory prices went down in the same regions.

People are complaining about SIE's April 2025's PS+ price increases which also have nothing to do with import tariffs either as they're digital services, which aren't affected by import tariffs.

If this had anything to do with import tariffs in the US... Then, why isn't PS raising prices in the US?
