Please explain Israel's massive number of guns and few shootings, Poland, Spain, Finland, Sweden, and why don't we just throw Germany in there pre-WWII for good measure? Why are there so many gun related deaths (nearly half of the US' rate per 100,000 per Wikipedia) in Austria despite tighter gun regulations than all but Israel in my list?

Could it be that the number of guns doesn't matter? Germany had 39 shootings in 2023. Yet no one talks about these thing...

This genuinely made me laugh.
I hope it's satire and yes, I'm too lazy to check your comment history right now.

This was a problem on Xbox since the 360. Everyone says that was their best generation and Xbox still had Mountain Dew and Doritos ads on the top menu.

@Reaper22_
I hate ads and I hate ads this site uses but I didn't pay for this site nor do I pay to use it. I understand why the ads are here because I'm not a moron.

Can you show us that you're not a moron by explaining why a 3 trillion dollar company forces it users to watch ads on their $600 console's homescreen which also has a reoccurring monthly fee for online access to Xbox's digital services?

The simple answer is that PS isn't actually radically changing their business model.

Even so some will argue that trophies are a carbon copy of achievements, which is simply not true. Trophies have a different structure and leveling system with platinums typically denoting at least the completion of a game. Gamerscore from Xbox Achievements is just a huge number. It's a bit ridiculous. On PS you can just say, "I have 49 trophies." and everyone knows that means you beat at least 49 games. On Xbox I can say I have 63,950 Gamerscore and no one knows what the heck t...

Just checked...
Can not confirm; Russia's PS Blog, PS Store presence and more were halted back in summer 2022 just months after the war started. No new press releases about this on the US PS Blog, SIE's official corporate site or at Sony.net.

This is literally the only time we can point to the Orange Man's tariffs. Every other company adjusted prices up by much more, way earlier, so much earlier that Trump wasn't even in office for another year when Nvidia and AMD partook in upward price adjustments.

That is what happened in Brazil with respect to PS and ridiculous tariffs. Does Xbox or Nintendo have a plant in Brazil?

148d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

They're doing this because it's obviously not cheaper to manufacture PS5 than it was 5 years ago. The almighty gamer-centric Valve also hasn't dropped the price of their Steam Deck after 3 years. I wonder why. It's actually not Trump's fault because well. Trump assumed office just 7 months and 2 days ago now. Yeah, it's only been 7 months.
For everyone who hates Trump, please explain why PS5 (and almost literally every other electronic) didn't drop in pric...

@kindi_boy & Deathdeliverer
Xbox is greedy adjusting prices well before tariffs and higher than necessary given PS' more limited financial resources.

Orange man only is responsible for the US pricing of PS5. So, why did Nintendo **AND** Xbox adjust pricing so much higher than PS **GLOBALLY**?
What an excellent question that neither of you will be be capable of answering.

When are you expecting PS6 to launch?
I'm sure it's still more than 2 years away if not 4 years. PS might choose to make PS hardware in the US by that point. This is what happened in Brazil under the same economic pressures a decade ago.

In the US we can blame the tariffs for you... you can blame your government for screwing up your currency driving up.the prices of game consoles even if not by as much as in the US.
What is Xbox's excuse? What was Nintendo's excuse? Both increased prices all over the planet for consoles even last gen consoles and their accessories plus services.

PS only increased prices on PS5 consoles in the EU and rest of the world while also reducing costs for accessorie...

The prices increased to their 2022 prices.

THE WORLD IS OVER!!!
😭
Any price increases, especially this late in the generation suck, but this isn't the greed every other company has been demonstrating. If or when PS moves production out of China tariff pricing goes away.

Google translation of the offending segment of the Japanese Sony Q1 25 webstream, "As I mentioned in my speech today, for example, in the games business, we are moving away from a hardware-centric business model and towards a platform business that fosters community growth and increases engagement, thus improving the stability of our revenue."
This is a means to expand. PS is not exiting console manufacturing because that would crush the ecosystem they've built and coun...

So, I have the choice to be ripped off by AMD, Intel, and Nvidia as well as the publishers on PC all the same!? What a great option, and let's not forget the longer boot times the bugs glitches and OS updates that can and have locked people - including me - out of software we paid for and own (even on disc in my case regarding Crysis: Maximum Edition!).
🤣 PC is truly the most masterful rat race.

Uh, Sony and other electronics firms are still mastering BD discs for movies games and other media, just not re/writables for us consumers. The announcement of the discontinuation of re/writable BDs effective February 2025 was misinterpreted as a full stop on all BD disc manufacturing by Sony Corp.
