It will hopefully available later on along with the other games either as a download or as part of Nintendo's online streaming service. That's about the best I can hope for from Nintendo at this point. I mean, they aren't even going to allow this 3D All Stars collection be available permanently. Who does that?

That's good because although I'm lucky enough to still have the game on my PS3, I never did get around to getting the DLC before it was delisted.

Cool. What's Amazon offering?

To play current gen games. This is for people who don't have a ton of money to spend on a console, but want to be able to play all the latest multiplats.

But one is a digital-only version of an otherwise identical console, and the other is a SKU with much lower specs intended to appeal to the gamer on a budget. Also, it's pretty obvious which one is more powerful, so why even bother asking that question?

Well, MS blinked first. I still wish both companies revealed this kind of info months ago, but better late than never.

@DiRtY The base PS4 is also more powerful than the base XB1. Technically the XB1 was the same price as the PS4 but everyone who purchased a XB1 had to also buy a $100 accessory to go with it that most people didn't even want. MS obviously rectified quite a bit over the course of last gen and claimed the higher and cheaper ends of the console market with different XB1 models, but averagejoe26 is correct that none of it mattered much in the end since the XB1 just didn't have enough ex...

Is that the sound parents make when they realize their kid managed to get their credit card number and pin and charged a ton of MTs to it?

The future is Doom on all devices. ALL DEVICES!

That too will likely be available for a limited time if it happens. I'll be there to encourage the same BS when it happens again, as I want those games on my Switch too.

I have a love/hate relationship with Nintendo at this point. Imagine if Sony tried to do something as horrid as making Spider-Man a timed release. They'd be chewed up and spit out for it, and rightfully so. No company should pull such BS.

But, I pre-ordered a copy. I will condemn what deserves to be condemned, but at the end of the day I want these games on my Switch. Sure, I wish more effort was put into this collection in terms of emulation/remaster quality and f...

I'm going to be honest, I thought about securing a second copy just to keep sealed and sell once it's no longer available. But, I also believe that the limited physical copies of this game should go to someone who will enjoy them. Gaming to me should be about fun, not personal gain, and I want as many people as possible to get to have that fun, so I'll abstain from scalping, which I've always thought was a contemptible practice anyways. I'm sure my copy of the game will...

Well, this doesn't strike me as the above and beyond kind of remastering anyways. I'm still glad this is happening, even if it's only available for a short while though. I'll take what I can get from Nintendo at this point. Having SM64 on my Switch is better than not having SM64 on my Switch.

Actually, I would have loved to have seen pre-orders up months ago. I was able to pre-order my PS4 and pay it off gradually over six months, and that was so great I wanted to do it again with the PS5. As it stands, it's looking like I'll at most have two months to pay it off, thus eliminating that advantage to pre-ordering.

The more time passes, the more I'm thinking I'm going to have to make the adult decision to not get one right away, as much as I'd...

Why don't they create a Virtual Console...console? I mean, sure, the Switch could be that system too, but if Nintendo wants to make more money they could literally create a device to sell alongside it designed specifically to emulate the wide world of past Nintendo consoles, and maybe even some third party systems too, complete with a digital storefront. With Nintendo controllers changing every gen it may be difficult to capture the exact feel of the controller for every single system t...

I know PS controls well enough that I don't need to look at the controllers...but that looks gorgeous, so I would love for this to happen just for that reason.

There are always articles like this one every time new consoles are on the horizon. "Look, here's a PC graphics card that's more powerful than what's in those consoles". Bruh, don't you think there might be more to the picture than that, which accounts for why people still buy consoles?

I'm not saying this isn't a great investment for the PC crowd. What I am saying is, consoles and PC have something different to offer, and both appeal ...

A bigger question is, will the games included in the upcoming collection be coming to the Switch again once they're pointlessly removed? Yes, I want Galaxy 2. But, once the upcoming collection is gone those games won't be available anymore either. I am certainly securing myself a copy of said collection so I'll personally have access to them, but some people are going to miss out on them.

2111d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

They won't. Nintendo fans probably kneel in front of a portrait of Miyamoto everyday, and hold the view that Nintendo can do no wrong. They're the reason why Nintendo could practically get away with murder (and would probably just keep selling Switches at an increasingly higher rate). Imagine if a political leader had that kind of support base...oh wait. The world we live in is messed up, and heck if we can avoid that in the realm of gaming.

At least I don&#...

They are scummy like that. Or perhaps the only way to play them will be to stream them. Once they start adding games from later systems to the service they can start charging more for it. Either way, they probably have some underhanded plan to take us for all we're worth. Snagging the collection when we can is probably the best option even if these games do get re-released again somehow.
