I'm surprised the executives at various Japanese studios don't have a restraining order on this crazy “外人" who wastes their time once every 1-3 years.
I think that horse has been beaten to such a fine pulp that it's not going to "wake up" even with the help of necromancy. Google definitely should though, and realize their half-hearted attempt at a product is a bust.
Thanks for that. Now I'm wondering if Google's Alexa and Amazon's Luna are chicks the executives met at some bar in Vegas and had a fun time with one night before an important board meeting.
Oh, should we bring out the list of ways in which MS is anti-consumer then? In the interest of avoiding hypocrisy, we may as well make such lists for all of the Big 3 and rate them objectively.
I for one think no exclusives at launch (not even of the cross-gen variety) shows MS is out of touch.
That's essentially what they are, yes. What I'm wondering is what it takes to build such a reputation that people will pay you for what are essentially opinions? Heck, Patcher's wrong half the time and he made a whole career of it.
All the more reason not to pay that. I live in Canada too. Unless you're buying Nintendo first party stuff, the new release price is for the pleasure of having a game as soon as it comes out...and in many cases, the "pleasure" at playtesting the bloody game for devs who should have spent more time on that before releasing it.
If it's a game you're really excited for and can't wait to play it then go for it. But, if you're going to backlog ...
Same here. Heck, sometimes I only end up paying $20-30. With Flash Sales, sometimes I pay even less. All raising the price of new releases is going to do for me is make me that much more inclined to keep being savvy.
MS should have had way more games per gen with their previously acquired studios. See my above post. Studios are worthless unless they're actually put to use, and Sony actually uses studios they acquire.
My unpopular opinion is that MGS has had its run and needs to finally be taken out back and shot, but otherwise, I agree wholeheartedly. I'd love to see a new Castlevania for sure! Maybe even a new Silent Hill. If Sony either bought Konami or one or more of their IPs, these games could actually happen.
Well, actually, MS needs to make more use of their studios. Quantity isn't going to change that much. They strike me as being kind of like a restaurant where the cooking staff barely ever turn on their ovens/stoves. They can buy more ovens/stoves, but that wouldn't solve the problem unless that's what it takes to make the chefs more inclined to actually use them.
Metaphor aside, MS actually has had some pretty decent studios for some time now. They just have...
Agreed. I'd also really like to see AA games make more of a comeback. While there have been exceptions, that's a type of game that has largely fallen by the wayside in favour of indie (A) games. AA games would be a perfect candidate for a $40 price.
In response to your other comment, ah, yeah that makes sense then. MGS4 was only possible on the PS3 at the time, hence why it never got ported to other systems. There was the regular collection on PS3, 360 and Vita, but then there was one other one released later exclusively on the PS3 that was basically that plus MGS4 in a nice case with a slipcover (I'm not actually sure what that type of case is called, it's not a steelbook).
When I got it I was wondering wh...
Not until the games are made, lol, and they had better live up to expectations when they finally do release.
It looks awesome and I can't wait for my copy to arrive in the next few days!
I think I'm in the same boat. As much as I'd love a PS5, I can take my time getting one. I have plenty to play in the meantime.
What facts? How is MS acquiring a bunch of studios suddenly going to mean there won't be PS5 exclusives? Oh wait, it doesn't. Also, PS5 pre-orders sold out in minutes. Nothing about that sounds like a doomed system.
MGS4 was part of a collection, unless you didn't get the PS3 exclusive collection that also included it.
It's definitely recommended if you want a game that ties up the plot points of the first three MGS games though. On the other hand, my main criticism is it's one of few games that really doesn't rest on its own merits. Like, you have to have at least played MGS1-3 to get what's going on in it whereas even a newcomer could hop into any of the previou...
Indeed. At this point I would settle for them just making games again.
Who keeps buying annual sports games? Lulz. Well, 3D All Stars definitely deserved to sell better than those.
