In reality it really depends on what you play. I'm pretty sure people who only play VNs don't get that benefit (not to knock VNs as they can have their good points too). However, with people who play a good variety of games and/or those who focus on something like FPS where the first to put a bullet in their opponent gets the kill, I can definitely see it.

That's far from the only intrinsic benefit to videogames though. Games with lots of puzzles help with l...

Not surprising. I prefer controllers for most games. There are exceptions such as strategy and sim type games that benefit from the mouse/keyboard setup, but for everything else, I prefer having a controller in my hands. Thankfully I have that option too with PC games.

I believe him. Some people are so desperate for one they would willingly get ripped off. I don't understand it myself as I'd never pay 3x the cost of something I could just wait a little while longer for, but other people are not me. I'm really looking forward to experiencing the PS5 for myself, but I'll stick to paying what it's actually worth.

That seems like somewhere it would be particularly rampant, and Americans are known for that sort of thing. I'm sure it's happening a lot up here in Canada too. It's a detestable practice, but I'm sure it happens everywhere the supply doesn't quite match the demand. I'm sure it's especially prevalent in the US though.

All the more reason why I'm holding off on getting a PS5 until the madness blows over. I do really want one, but I don't need one this second, and I can wait for a while if it means not fretting over whether I'll be able to get one.

Same here. What I use my Switch for and what I want a PS5 for are two different things. Both have their place, but I have a perfectly good Switch and I do not have a PS5 yet. So...it's pretty obvious what my next big purchase will be even if Nintendo were to release a new upgraded model Switch.

Thanks for this. It’s good information to have for when I get my PS5.

I never played Sunshine before, and that’s a big part of why I did bother. I wanted to have the opportunity. I’ll agree that this collection is lacklustre though.

While I don’t personally understand the appeal of inverted camera controls, that is something a lot of people apparently wanted. Proper GameCube controller support on the other hand, is something I thought would be neat to have in Sunshine. Better late than never, I suppose.

And Nintendo's not for sale. MS just needs to cut their losses and stop annoying the nice people across the pond who don't care about them.

I’ve always liked when a handful of games took advantage of the light bar on the PS4, as it can be used to really neat effect. However, it’s not used as often as I’d like, and it’s in a spot where it rarely occurs to me to look for it, so I often miss it. I’m glad the light bar is in a more obvious spot on the DualSense.

They’re moving them so far back that they’re at the point where they’re just about to leave the soccer field and start planting their goal posts in the parking lot.

So...official confirmation that MS has given up trying to sell the most systems. Got it. But Phil, even if households share an Xbox, you still need to get one into said household to begin with. Selling a lot of consoles is still recommended if you want the highest playerbase.

People need to be told not to do this? I would assume vape smoke is bad for electronics.

That sounds reasonable enough, until you notice that it’s companies like EA, Activision, etc., pushing that narrative. Not a single one of those companies is one you should feel bad for. They rake in huge money on their games and I don’t believe for a second that they’re hurting. 2K is one of those companies. Sony’s usually cooler than that, but it goes to show even they are susceptible to corporate greed.

Devs closer to the AA end of things have so much more to lose if...

I sure won’t. I normally wait for price drops anyways. At $70USD, which is sure to mean a good $90CAD, I’ll just be that much more inclined to wait on games.

I usually take any opportunity to dump on EA because they usually deserve it, but how? Skyrim has been ported to almost everything that can run it. People have been wanting a port of ME for years. If anything, EA is guilty of doing the opposite of what fans wanted until now, and just kept such a great trilogy in the past. I'm actually glad they're finally doing this.

That sounds even more awful. Black Friday is a terrible time to be a retail associate.

Working retail is BS at the best of times. More retail hours isn’t something to dance for.

I think the problem is a lot of people give way too much importance to metascores, and review scores in general. Reviews are a tool to help inform people about the pros and cons of a game. How many people actually spend time reading them rather than just looking at the assigned score and calling it a day?

I don’t often look at reviews anymore as I’ve gotten to the point where I can usually ascertain whether a game is for me or not. But there was a time when I read revi...
