This game ran on my base PS4 when I played it bruh. Sony first party studios just know how to make games. I'm sure it runs even better on a PS5 though.
Oh, I'll have to try this on my PS5 when I get it. Days Gone with SSD loading times would be amazing!
Well, yeah. Otherwise Konami would actually have to make new games, and they wouldn't want to do that that, would they?
Ok, well-warranted quips aside, they did go above and beyond with these collections. In all fairness, they definitely deserve praise for these ones. I also hope they get ported to the PS5 and XS.
The number one feature the XS needs is exclusives.
Nice! Handhelds and retro compilations go really well together, and these ones have to be Konami’s best work in years (not that I can think of anything else they’ve done recently, but that’s beside the point).
I’d buy it.
^This. Also, it wasn't just Nintendo games represented on VC. There were a ton of games across various first and third party systems. Sure, it might not have been the greatest emulation, but it sure was convenient, and was a great way to both revisit old favourites and come across new ones. The Switch is the perfect system to have both the console and handheld VCs in one great digital storefront.
It is true that the Switch is a great system even without all of tha...
Translation: Ubisoft is another company who would much rather coast on what makes them quick and easy money than attempt to take any kind of risk. Well, hey, they can make Star Wars games now. I just don't see them trying anything new anytime soon when they don't need to make nearly as much effort to rake in cash.
So...a game trailer. I have to agree that game trailers in general seem to be insufficient...but I do have to give this one credit. It's only a 30 second trailer, and while it would have been nice to see more, it did show a lot more actual gameplay than I've seen in my fair share of longer trailers for AAA games.
Would you rather they just be able to sniff you out like a living dinosaur could...or do the machine equivalent such as using heat sensors? I'd be interested to see how far you could get in a game like that. In a videogame, you kind of need to have a chance against enemies, no matter how huge and formidable they may be. Hence why you can sit in tall grass with your head clearly sticking out, and no person or machine can spot you.
Phil Spencer: "Am I a joke to you?"
What I like about Sony first party titles is, they don't need a license or name to sell. Well, ok, they have Spider-Man (and its recent spinoff), but that's also just an all-around excellent game that wasn't just dumped onto the PS4 on the assumption that the license alone will encourage sales. That is more of an exception to the rule, anyways.
Sure, there are often sequels to Sony's most popular titles, but it's important to note that they do plant ne...
I look forward to the thousands of hours I'll be spending with it.
Hollow Knight made me wish that more Metroidvania games could do what it does. While the genre is very much about exploring unknown labyrinths, caverns and any other manner of spaces, I never really connected with those spaces like I did with the environment in Hollow Knight. There's just something about its use of environmental storytelling that really helped build that connection for me.
Yay, but now Ubisoft is making the games. I'm sure they will be a slight improvement, but I don't trust any of these corporations as far as I can throw them...and I don't know if anyone has ever tried to throw a corporation, but that's not very far at all. Yes, I'll use the term corporation to describe these big AAA devs/publishers.
I suppose it's best to give Ubisoft a chance, mind you, rather than just making assumptions. Hindsight is always cle...
Hmmm...looks like two people owe me an apology as they couldn't be bothered to explain what I said that's untrue.
@Vanfernal I thought the way you did for the longest time, but RE5 and 6 definitely made me appreciate 4 so much more. It is an excellent game. It's just the transition from CVX to 4 that was botched, which at the time drove me crazy. But, there came a point when I started to feel nostalgic for RE4 too.
It really is an excel...
I agree, demos are great. Sure, we have easy access to trailers, reviews and LPs that we didn’t have in the 90s, but maybe I just want to try a bit of a game on a digital storefront so I can make a fully informed decision as to whether or not the game is for me. Life goes on either way, but I do wish demos were more commonplace.
Oh, you think the post-apocalyptic world Aloy lives in feels dead? At least it’s more interesting to look at for an extended period of time than a lot of other open world games. I get the sense you just don’t like the genre.
Is it odd that I've literally never heard of any of these?
Ah, ok. The performance boost will probably still make it worthwhile though. Thanks for informing me.
