Is this just for the 360 version? Since every 360 title sells gangbusters as I was lead to believe. What? BOTH? Ah.
NYC took the words out of my mouth. 1 million IS a success... but for such a "revolutionary" new IP that is multiplatform, that's rather weak. No 2 million in week 1? Psh.
I like the excuse that it will "keep selling," as if OTHER titles that don't do a million the first month cannot do the same.
In all honesty, I'm enjo...
I too dislike the "need" to tack on more useless multiplayer into everything.
Yeah, Chris Buffa is pretty sad.
"and doesnt need to be a 10/10. "
I wish both "sides" would figure that out.
Uhoh, some random guy somewhere put a number on a game I'm interested in that doesn't agree with my opinion! End of world!
*sigh*
The sad part is, they made an "article" spurned on by the childish actions of a PS3 fanboy, basically mocking and belittling not only the PS3 fanboys, but also basically stating that "my opinion is better than yours."
And what happens? The Xbox 360 fanboys show up, say the PS3 sucks, UC2 sucks, another nail in Sony's coffin, etc etc. So, should I now expect a follow up article because the very fanboys who were "the victims" are now tossing the same c...
I'd love to see this gen in general last a bit longer, as it feels like things are just getting started! If anyone announces a new console next year, I'll be rather disappointed.
Already grabbed Bayonetta and Darksiders. Now on to Dante's. Ow my wallet.
Frankly, I think EVERY review score should be dismissed, but that's a different argument entirely.
The downside, Saber, is that now look at the talkback section for this article on IGN. You have the OTHER side now (360 owners) talking crap about UC2, how it sucks, how the PS3 just got slapped by its own editor, yadda yadda yadda. So now do we get another article about how Xbox owners are just as childish? ROund and round it goes.
All he did was 1) fan the flames of stupidity and 2) make himself look stupid.
Fanboys are not gamers, they will always be fanboys. Diff...
Can anyone tell me the difference between a 9.5 and a 9.6 game?
Anyone?
Anyone?
Would love to know.
That's the intelligent POV, but let's face it, this was done for hits. It's the fact that he is presenting his opinion as law, as something that cannot be contested. The fact that an editor has the gall to state that it's a "fact" that an apple is better than an orange, not an opinion, proves that game journalism is in the sh1tter these days.
Don't try to tell me my opinion is wrong just because you have a website IGN.
"I'm telling you that Mass Effect 2 is better than Uncharted 2.
I need you to accept this."
My opinion of a game is more important to me than some biased journalist's opinion of a game. And IGN needs to accept this. But hey, thanks for being "professional" and realizing your reviews are indeed opinions, not fact. What's that, they didn't realize this? Uh oh.
Talk about dropping to lowest common denominator.
Otherwise, ODST = Nin...
Excuses.
Kinda sad that in today's review scheme, a 7.5 is considered by the masses to be a "flop." Wow.
Let's just change review scores to a scale of 8 - 10, since that's all that seems to register with people.
I'm still getting this, knowing full well its a GoW ripoff, just as Bayonetta is essentially DMC5. Why am I getting this? Because the demo was fun, I love hack and slash, and I'm sick of FPS. This will be a nice lead in to GoW3.
The Unreal engine IS cross platform...

However Paragon and Renegade points are specific only to Mass Effect, thus are not really part of the "engine code."
Explain Bioware, explain.
They don't. What matters is the quality of the game, which by most accounts is lacking. No towns? REALLY? Too hard to do in HD? Okay Square, whatever.
I find THIS review system to be the perfect one, regardless of whether or not I agree with their opinion.
I wish every outlet would adopt something similar. Especially the "this is how much we played" bit.
And I'm sure GAMERS would be smart to realize that UC2 is not an RPG, ME2 is not an action/adventure, and review scores are stupid. =)
"You know reviews are meant for something. TO HELP YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT GAME IS GOOD OR BAD. "
It is there to HELP you make an INFORMED decision. Instead you seem to be using the review SCORE, which is the most arbitrary part of the review and ENTIRELY made up, to JUDGE a title without playing it.
I'm all for READING the review, but braying like a barnyard animal about 'ZOMG 6.5!!!' is just stupid. In the end, my point is, YOUR OWN OPINION MATTERS MOST. Sorr...
Dumbing down and overexplaining for the sake of sales and the casuals is even more insane.
