It wasn't ZOMG wow, but I felt visually it was clean, supported splitscreen well, and got the job done.
I'm just really, really sick of the wet, overnormalmapped, overbloomed U3 engine games.
Better, smarter, more efficient programming techniques will always come along as long as any system is supported. Please. This is just getting silly now.
What I DO hope more people do, however, is get away from the Unreal 3 engine. Halo 3 is one example of a clean looking, solid title not running on this wet plastic engine.
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you "game journalism."
Next up - Why the PSP2 might be the next NES!
There are sights of true terror in The Divine Comedy. PLEASE don't mess this up, and PLEASE use Gustav Dore's woodcuts as inspiration!

Welcome to FF. *sigh*
Square has really lost it I feel.
Some people will always take gaming way too seriously. It's a pity. I'd rather help someone learn, then just kick them off the game I'm in. If I'm playing in a "hardcore mood" then I just make sure to make the game private.
You'll find elitism anywhere you go however, and I always have to laugh at those people. Yes, you beat me in a videogame... you win at life.
Hopefully this will push developers into avoiding $5 for a weapon skin pack or $10 for 1 new character and all of that BS.
I think there is still a major difference between being a fan, and being a FANBOY. Fanboys are illogical idiots who spew spite and hatred of anything because they need to somehow justify their own preferences and purchases to the world.
We all have preferences, but in this day and age, its odd that the perception is if you like one game in one genre on one system, you automatically hate all others.
Utterly pathetic.
*yawn*
I'm sorry what was that? I was too busy looking at all the badass news about GAMES such as KZ2, SFIV, Uncharted 2, and God of War 3... people still playing armchair analyst and tossing about doom and gloom articles? Right, must be a weekday on N4G.
People let the media control their hobby with their arbitrary, random review scores. Are people that lazy as they cannot read a review, instead having to rely on numerical scoring to justify not only their purchase, but their opinion?
If anything, the reliance on Metacritic reflects more poorly on gamers than it does on reviwers.
Buh buh Chris... teh conspeerizy!!!
Bubbles for you mate.
And one for you, and one for Death. And we thanka u!
Shhh... fanboys and trolls will argue over something the article has nothing to do with. This is N4G remember Death? A wretched hive of scum and villainy.
I really miss Square Soft.... remember Brave Fencer Musashiden? Remember Einhander? Remember when there were titles without a Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts prefix?
*sigh* Square has really lost touch I feel with their fans. Going multiplatform is great. Being hypocritical bastards however, is another...
MGS stands on its own. Splinter Cell and Syphon Filter are the answer to nothing, they are their own great franchises, nothing more, nothing less.
LOL. You got a good laugh out of me. I thank you for that!
Tordavis, you have a good head on your shoulders.
IMHO, nothing will stop those "blogging sites." The line between pro journalists and blogs will continue to blur, so... All I ask is that gamers and consumers start putting their own opinion before some arbitrary, paid for score that means nothing. Don't let great games pass you by, regardless of console.
As for favorite games? Oh man, I couldn't rank them....
MGS Series (all 7 canon games, 2 Ac...
Well said. I also think gamers get attached to different characters for different reasons.
In the KZ2 demo, I wasn't attached to any character.. how could I be, it was a demo? Marcus you seem to be attached to. For me, bring on Nathan Drake or Solid Snake.
But yeah, dissing Gears just because you don't prefer it is a bit silly.
Just another FPS, but even developers like Levine say its a well polished, well balanced, and well designed shooter. Why is that bad? Why must every title "innovate," especially when games like Mirror's Edge prove that it won't always pay off. Why can a game not be a great success for just being fun, polished, and well developed - the epitome of its genre? Halo 3 was "just another shooter," CoD4 was "just another shooter," why is it a crime only now when it comes...
I'd love to see new installments in....
Brave Fencer Musashi (PS1)
Omega Boost (PS1)
Twisted Metal (is happenin!)
Warhawk (Single Player Campaign)
Colony Wars (PS1)
Jak & Daxter (Rumored in dev for either PS3 or PSP)
Black (cmon Criterion!)
Syphon Filter (is happenin!)
Mark of Kri (Great game)
Zones of the Enders (nuff said!)
Be it full fledged titles, or PSN remakes/sequels a la Wipeout HD, I really miss these ...
