I actually really enjoyed XII. My biggest beef with it was the spells weren't as flashy as previous FFs, and the story focused more on events instead of character. Balthier, Gabranth, Vayne were all so great... if only they developed them a TAD more, I'd have no issues!
Still, I don't regret getting the steelbook edition in the slightest. I also felt the score was quite impressive, even without Uematsu (who still rocks, duh).
@Why Dis - How is it punishing them? They claimed in the very same interview with 1up concerning Star Ocean and Final Fantasy being on the 360, that they are a multiplatform company. That's, frankly, BS.

I'm a PS3 owner. Had Square Enix kept true to their statement of being muliplatform, I would have purchased the title on day 1. Sadly, they have snubbed many fans. I won't bash the game, that's stupid, and I eagerly await any news of a port.
I wouldn't blame it on the 360. I'd blame it on Square's current business practices. We have to appeal to the west! Toss everything on the 360! What's that, we said we are multiplatform? We lied!
It's pathetic. If they DID release this game on both consoles, I would have snapped it up. But I guess they want to join Bethesda and Rockstar in snubbing their fanbases.

I find it interesting that the media gets so caught up in their own hype, that a retrospective on "yeah, we might have been wrong" is even conceivable. Here's an idea... "do better" the first time you review the title.

No offense, but I've heard this before. Gamers deserve better. Just because you enjoy the 360 is no reason to accept this kind of treatment. Same goes for the PS2 DRE.
The 360 is an enigma to me. Solid exclusives, amazing online, but worst hardware quality EVER.
I think Uncharted 2 and God of War 3 have the potential to raise the bar yet again.
