This article should read -
Sony plays MS's own numbers game.
MS is displeased.
I guess they don't like it when numbers get twisted against them. Maybe they should stop relying on them so much?
Personally, I'd like to see the next console iteration be either -
1) A totally new universe, with similar characters, such as a "Solid Snake" or "Big Boss" but not the same relationships or dynamics and new events.
2) If they are sticking to the same time line, have it happen long after Snake's death so he really IS a legend.
I think the Patriots storyline wrapped up perfectly. I don't want to see it used over and over. It's time fo...
I tried one for a bit, but sold it. The Wii just didn't click with me either to be honest, but I see many gamers enjoying it, so who am I to judge? That's why the only fool is the one who listens to the media instead of playing what THEY enjoy, scores, sales, and perception be damned.
Review scores are not facts. They are opinions turned into arbitrary numbers.
But whatever helps you sleep at night. I'm glad a game is better because someone else tell you its a 92.4 or whatever.
Pretty pathetic man. GG.
Being in third place is not the same as failing. There is no "end" to this "race." Stop eating up this media crap people. The PS3, 360, and Wii are all great systems with different appeals for different gamers.
And your trolling continues. Pretty sad.
"Other developers and publishers can no longer satisfy the expectations of PS3 gamers with subpar ports built upon the Xbox 360 infrastructure."
I don't see how this is bashing the 360, when often times yes, the PORTS to the PS3 from the 360 are indeed subpar. Things have improved, but I don't see how this is considered "360 bashing?"
Also, where are the KZ2 numbers coming from? Over 1 million preorders in Europe alone? I have to imagine the game ...
In the US, its whatever gets people's attention sadly.
Actually, it's business. I still think its funny that after its been proven time and again that the media is biased one way or another, and heavily opinionated, people joke that it's just fanboys whining about a "conspiracy." I want all titles to get a fair shake, be it MGS4 or Fable 2.
I mean, REGULAR news is biased. We expect gaming news to NOT be biased? Why?
As long as the game is fun for me, I don't really care, nor should any of you. Yes, its unfair that good games get a bad shake, and the media has way too much control over the perception of games with their pathetic little scoring system. Numbers tell you NOTHING, considering how arbitrary they are.
But yes, in general, I do see the GENERAL MEDIA perception to be that of being harder on a PS3 exclusive than exclusives on other systems. The general air about the system is that &q...
Indeed. The deadzone has all but been eliminated. There is a definite change.
See Posted, in my opinion again, the issue isn't the controls themselves, but how they have changed the pace of the game. Even if I were to get the "old" controls, it wouldn't stop all the gamers who are running and gunning more online because of the ease of use and lack of "learning curve."
Controls SHOULD be easy to use. But because of this new ease, again, I feel the gameplay in MP has suffered a bit from what I was experiencing last week.
Stil...
I'm a fan of both to be honest. I liked how RE4 made things fresh. But with third person shooters taking over lately, and RE being more of a TPS now as well, I feel it needed to update from RE4 a tad more. I love Dead Space controls frankly.
I agree with Posted. I LOVE the new controls. They are an improvement with the tightened up deadzone. I applaud Guerilla for quick action and listening to fans.
HOWEVER, now that relearning curve that made KZ2 unique, whether you personally liked it or not, is gone. Smart, slow play is gone for the most part. Now it plays like other shooters, in how people react to it online. The pace of the game has really picked up, and people run and gun a lot more now instead of playing in a ...
RE5 demo disappointed me. It felt arcane. It's not what RE used to be any more, and I do miss the crazy puzzles and tense atmosphere. I don't want to dumb it down to calling it Gears of Evil... but that's how it feels.
HOWEVER, the moment I jumped in online coop with a friend, I was hooked. Despite my issues, THAT experience is great fun, and I will be purchasing the game and judge it as a whole. I just hope its long enough. Any word on length?
Versus articles, comparisons, sales data, and top 10 lists really seem to be all they have, even many "pro" sites. It's unfortunate. Why? They do this because many people just wont' read. Hell, how many people read reviews? They want the number to use in their fanboy wars, that is all. Personally, I love the post mortems that 1up would do on a title, or their roundtable discussions on games.
The media is just playing to the lowest common denominator, and that's a scary ...
This article kind of meanders around and fails to really deliver a solid point I feel. Developers in these times of expensive HD game development need to do what they have to to survive. Multiplatform is not an evil thing like so many people treat it.
What I personally dislike is companies either lying to their consumers or flatout ignoring them in the case of "exclusive" DLC. Is it business? Sure. I just think it's a poor tactic to snub half your fanbase, whereas full...
Gran Turismo.
Bye Bye Troll.
Both are FPS games, but they are quite different in design and focus.
Far too many people are ignoring that review scores are ARBITRARY, MADE ON A WHIM NUMBERS. They are not fact. They are nothing but opinion.
Please stop putting more importance on them than they deserve - none.
Um, EVERY video game engine is about using "smoke and mirrors" to make a believable game world.
Go in Gears 2 up to any of the blue glowing light sources in the caves. Notice how your character is not lit with a blue hue, as its just a post processing overlay, not a light source.
I rest my case. This guy knows nothing and is a fanboy.
