The stupid part is, well, besides the media themselves... they never say exactly what the PS3 is being saved from. Each title is labeled the "system savior" instead of just being recognized as a good game. Then when it doesn't go and give the PS3 an INSTANT 30 million unit sales boost, its a failure of a game, and the PS3 is doomed. And the cycle repeats with every big title. Thing is, NO title will give the boost that the media "expects" the system to get.
