The article makes a valid argument and the title makes a question (hence the question mark), not a statement of fact that it will fail. These are very valid points in the article for the claims that the company is trying to state the service will provide. I personally wouldn't use the service myself as I like being able to play my games I own anytime I want without having to worry about going over my ISP caps or possible latency issues. I am not a "techie" by any sense of the wor...
This is no where near to a point where it will hamper the consoles yet. I personally like to own my discs and play them as much as I want without having to worry about if I am going to go over my ISP's caps. I think the biggest impedence to this service is that most ISP's here in the USA are not able to handle this with all the caps on usage. I wouldn't be surprised if they raised the fees for going over and throttling down your speeds even more. There are such monopolies here in the US w...
It is a fairly good idea for ones who do not wish to own the actual media the games come on ( I am not one of them). However, I think the biggest impedence to this service is that most ISP's here in the USA are not able to handle this with all the caps on usage. I know there are some overseas that have fairly large cap limits on downloads; however, that is not the majority here. People will be going over left and right and when they get hit with outrageous "overlimit" penalties.....
I have never regretted the two PS3's I bought at launch for I use them every single day that I am home. However, there are a lot of money conscious people out there right now especially that only see the initial price tag on the shelf under the product. They don't bother reading what is included or investigate what additional things they more than likely will need are going to cost in the future. A price cut would dramatically help the PS3 to compete even further into the general populatio...
I not sure I agree with that one entirely. If I remember correctly, the PS3 was lauded as a complete system. The online was heavily publicized for being free and having similar features coming similar to the 360. The PS3 was made to not just center around one thing (media, games, etc...). I personally believe that the delay lies in the more than likely probability that MS has some sort of patent for the way they engage these particular features. Similar happened with custom soundtracks i...
You darn tootin. All gloves are off now.
Your account needs to be deleted and your IP banned. If that is what happens in the story at the end... so what... it doesn't spoil the story leading up to it for us. Not clicking on your ID either. Knowing @55es like you, you have spoilers written in your bio. Even if you know what happens from a brief "spoiler" it doesn't in any way hamper the gameplay and the actual story intertwined into the gameplay. Nice try though... give you that. You and your childish fanboi wars are...
I hate to disagree with you Meus on this one because I have come to like most of your logic in your posts. I think this will sell much better than you think. I would tend to believe the numbers Sony and GG gives us for total games sold instead of NPD. NPD is fairly accurate, but they don't include everything. This is a huge game and the preorder numbers overseas that were released says it all. Might not hit as high as we think... but a million is a safe bet in the first two- three weeks....
Well, Mr. Bust and your little friend Mr. Pimp, ...I hate to come across as a fanboi; however, you are going to be waiting for a long time. Guess that gives you two children time to get your broken Box back (again). Are you two adolescent idiots truly that stupid? To see some of the rants of people like you children just amazes me. Do you have so much free time in between getting your Boxes fixed that you must bash the competition with inaccurate posts. I am happy for you that you are ha...
however, you give nineball way too much credit. A presented view is fine; however, his/her articles presented lately have been nothing more than misrepresentation and pure flamebait titles. All have been antiSony lately and it is getting a little tiresome. Anyone with any common sense can tell from the article title alone that it is pure BS. Sony get bought... give my butt a break.... not in the darkest days of the economy. All this MS/Sony flame wars is old and people need to give it a ...
I know a large amount of persons who have hobbies that they endulge that takes large amounts of time from their family/friends/relationships. I find it humorous that researchers frequently try to link video games to bad/poor relationships. Any hobby, when taken to the extreme, can be detrimental to any social situation. You notice at the end of the article that she states that the connection was "modest." Another researcher trying to make a name by creating buzz and misconceptio...
Your sexuality is part of your identity/personality. What is it with the narrowmindedness of people? You think that because I stick a word to my gamer tag, etc... that I am shoving my sexuality down your throats. That is too funny. Are males in America that insecure? Home is a community and if someone wants to set up a space that like minded individuals can meet up to launch games, etc... that is their right as a human being. The last I heard... Home was age limited. If you allow your ...
Just got a PS eye hummm.... yeah right. What are you... five? You have never been a Sony fan and have no intentions of ever buying a PS3. If you can not afford your hobby of gaming... then I suggest you kiss your mother's behind and get more money or give it up. How is the PSN ripping into credit cards compared to LIVE? The PSN allows you to only charge what amount you need to get a purchase... unlike your "HOLY" Live service which only offers set amounts of Points for a fixed ...
I somewhat agree with you that you don't everything for free. However, why did Sony give us the same items offered in HOME stores now for free before and now charging new users for them. There is nothing new in the stores that wasn't there before and I did not have to pay a cent for them. I did notice though that Sony removed a few items that were there at one point. Don't get me wrong for I don't mind paying for items that I will use. After all... if people don't want them... they don't...
I need a 3rd PS3 anyways... I'll take yours and you can have my extra 360. Everyone knew that they would have to pay for some items in HOME as far as clothing, furniture, etc... What the heck is the big surprise. Luckily I got everything they offer currently for free during the initial beta. That is the one thing I don't understand though. If we got it for free... why charge new beta testers for these simple items. I could understand if they added something new ... but old "free&qu...
That is too funny. Didn't MS just have a huge layoff as well? What does that say for their games "selling well" as you suggest? What company in this economic situation isn't taking losses. You mention billion dollar losses... Sony is a massive, multibillion dollar corporate giant whether you like them or not. Another Doomsayer. Bluray sales are always increasing and in every territory. "Dead on arrival." I guess you have an HDDVD player in your closet gathering dus...
I'm not sure you can over hype this game. Whether you are a PS3 fan or not... you have to admit that it looks phenomenal. If ever there was a beta I wished I was a part of ... this is the game. On the flip side..., every big game that comes out has a ton of videos and screen shots that come out. Whether you like them or not... they are enjoyed by a many who are not fortunate enough to be in the betas. You don't have to watch them if you don't want to. Keep em coming.
Having been exposed to both... I don't think most care one way or the other. You either love your 360 or you love your PS3. 360 owners have nothing like HOME and thusly should not be compared to the console, NXE or LIVE. Should they really care... probably not... for right now.. they have almost everything that HOME does available to them in one form or another. However, once HOME launches fully and is expanded to do things Sony stated it would be able to do... then will be a different st...
These doom and gloom articles by fanbois are just hilarious and should not be approved. I find it amazing that this crap gets to spread far and wide while good articles don't get approved. MS and Sony are far from being in a world of hurt. We are arguably in the start of a recession and ALL companies have to make tough choices and cut the fat per se'. MS as well as Sony have both had to make job cuts. While MS has been able to cut their basic system price to an attractive one,... Sony is...
It is easiest to just call up your ISP and ask what the details in respect to UL/DL caps for your Plan are. I haven't seen it listed on any of my bills thus far; however I am sure it would show up quite boldly if I went over. My cap is just 20GB DL which is nothing. My ISP charges a dollar per GB over. It varies from ISP to ISP. As far as specific charges this new service will incur on us... we will have to just wait and see until they release specs on the billing.
