I'm feeling fortunate that I've got someone to borrow Halo 3 and Bioshock from because I'm probably going to get CoD4 instead. You can't go wrong with Infinity Ward. Now I'll just have to see which console version is superior before buying it.
How do you go from cheesy purple gang (and the saddest looking gang ever), to a more serious looking, dark game? I like how the development team tried to justify stealing everything from the GTA series as perfectly ok in the current EGM.
But I think Infinite Undiscovery will wipe the floor with this game.
I've always loved Insomniac, and never realized Disruptor was their first game. Funny because I bought it back when it came out along with the first Spyro and Ratchet games. These guys are talented and it's nice to see that Sony stood behind them all the way. Perhaps that's why they're so loyal to the Playstation brand.
Sure shareholders have some pull as evident last gen with the Gamecube losing every single one of it's announced exclusive games to PS2. But as seen with Bioshock, money talks. There's a game that was also coming to PS3 until M$ stepped in and paid god knows what to Take 2 for it to remain Xbox only. Now take a game as massive as Final Fantasy 13. Sony knows this title is crucial to them. If you're Sony you're going to hand Square a blank check and tell them to write in the amount it'll take ...
to see how it compares to the GT HD demo awhile back.
Squarsoft can take a branding iron that states PS3 only and brand the forehead of every gaming journalist and they'll still think it might come to the 360. Now MGS4 wouldn't really suprise me, but FF13 is only for PS3. Square even flashed it at the end of their FF13 video at TGS.
It's funny because last gen a FF game hitting the Xbox was unthinkable. All of a sudden it's the system that everyone thinks will get all the big franchises.
I bought the Pro system at launch and managed with it until it ROD on me August 1st. During my time with the Pro I had to keep up with my demos by deleting old ones I hadn't played much in order to make room for my new ones. There was quite a bit of managing with the HD in order to make sure I always had at least a spare 5gb on hand.
The Elite sounds like a luxury to me. For $100 more it has two selling points over the pro. First is the HD which would basically give me a carefree att...
So a Dark Cloud 3 could be in the cards at some point. Of course DC is a Sony owned IP so it certainly wouldn't appear anywhere else.
The Xbox 360 has nothing like this, and probably never will. It's games like this that seperates the Playstation from the Xbox, and you'll continue to see it with stuff from Team Ico as well.
Th Playstation doesn't have all of it's eggs in the space marine genre basket.
In all honesty I have to question the wisdom in launching a gaming system in India or China where piracy runs rampant? This is a shame as it only hurts the industry. Countires such as those should have special systems that only accept downloadable content that's paid for with M$ points.
Considering there's still no support from some big name movie studios?
I just tell it like it is, that's all. Doesn't matter if it's PS3 or Xbox 360, I don't play one side but rather point out the flaws and advantages in both companies.
Anyway, despite the 360 still being my favorite system (until PS3 gets some more games from their many internal studios), it's becoming more and more obvious that their best games were bought and paid for by outside developers rather than developed internally. To me that's not a good strategy for the future. Bioware was a...
Welp, Xbots can say what they want but they have no clue as to how everything will pan out. EA can do whatever they want with the Mass Effect franchise because it's their's now. If EA wants to publish a Mass Effect special edition they certainly can do so.
Considering how EA makes everything multiplatform it's a no brainer.
It makes sense for the xbots to go into defense mode though. First they lose Bizarre making their PGR games, then Bungie goes independant, and now there's...
I've had the Ratchet demo since the day it hit, but was wondering if the PSN demo was the same? I'm assuming it is. Anyway I'm downloading Conan first just to see how it is, and as someone else mentioned, Where's the Lair demo? We were promised one before the game launched! I'd love to try it out.
What do they have to worry about? It's not like Microsoft is stealing exclusives, the PS3 is selling far less than the competition, or Sony's needed to revise the system design to figure out what it'll take to get people to start buying it.
Sure it's plausible that Nintendo will allow them to be stored on SD cards, but that's just not enough space imo. I doubt you can store more than three demos on a 2gb card.
The sales will continue to rise further when the holiday bundle deal arrives. Meanwhile Wii sales are declining which is why Reggie's trying to stir them up again by scaring consumers that there will be a "shortage". Yeah, sure Reggie. Just like Halo 3 isn't a system seller.
..if grocery shopping were like buying music, you'd be forbidden to share any of your food, only allowed to store it in a refridgerator that was registered to you only, and be forced to rebuy food when buying a new refridgerator.
PS3 really needs some exclusive Capcom lovin'.
