Personally the most innovative things I've seen so far this generation are achievements (can't live without them now), and the new Sony playing card game with the Eyetoy (Eye of Judgement?). Wiimote is different, but you're still doing the same stuff as in any other control pad type game.
1-God of War
2-God of War 2
3-Soul Calibur 2
4-GTA3
5-Onimusha
6-Dragon Quest 8
7-Shadow of the Colossus
8-Contra Shattered Soldier
9-Ratchet and Clank Up your Arsenal
10-Marvel vs Capcom 2
Of course there's a truckload of more games that deserve to be on this list. The pS2 imo is the greatest system of all time. There's more great games across more genres than on any other platform in gaming history.
I applaud ...
I prefer my black PS3, but the dust won't show as much on the white one.
Shootinputin187 lol!
That some of you think you know and understand the hardware and capabilities of both systems better than a real life developer. I mean, the guy only makes games for a living while you're stocking shelves at WalMart right? How could he possibly know what he's talking about?
Oh, and before Guitar Hero, Harmonix did Frequency and Amplitude (great game) for the PS2. Calling this guy an Xbot is ludicrous considering he's most likely been developing games for Sony for years.
He mentioned that hopefully Sony will learn from their mistakes and build their next system better.
It's a fact that when the 360 was being built Epic showed M$ a comparison of Gears of War running with 256meg of ram and Gears running at 512. M$ literally bumped up the ram because they listened to Epic's recommendation, and I respect that.
Sony on the otherhand was arrogant (they've changed their tune since), and built a "computer". Next time they should take some ...
Will it still be a flop in your eyes when PS3 gets it's port in 2008?
The 1up reviews are always a single review pulled from EGM review staff. It's reviewed in the current issue and received a 6.5,6.5,8.
Ace Combat has a hardcore following that will still buy this new installment regardless of a 6.5 score.
I'd rather have new chapters or better yet, new IPs to play. And why would anyone want a remade Doom? It's archaic and boring in this day and age.
Outside of PS3 owners that have sold their soul to Sony, I think most will find that this guy must be right. Especially when you factor in the delays for PS3 versions, the often heard grumbling of developers doing PS3 work, and the fact that PS3 versions are almost always inferior to the 360 versions. This could also be an indication as to why the PS3 takes forever to get a demo.
The Sony devotees will write this guy off, but like it or not this guy has experience making games on the...
It's more than just a simple store update. This is Sony's outlet for getting demos and trailers of new games into eager PS3 owner's hands. After nearly a year of doing this, there shouldn't be any problems getting demos into the store. Either somebody in charge of the PSN isn't doing their job, or Sony has is having some sort of difficulty with third parties getting demos to them. PSN only gets updated once a week, and it's not like there's no new demos to go around. If I were in charge of th...
Eleven months ago I camped 36 hours to get my PS3 (actually I bought two and ebayed one to pay for mine). Now almost one year later I've got three games; Resistance, VF5, and Motorstorm.
In comparison, I bought my 360 at launch as well (bought two and ebayed one), along with four games, which I enjoyed quite a bit. Within two months DOA4 hit, and another month later I bought Oblivion. Demos started ramping up, and over the course of that eleven months I went on to buy some more games...
The 360 keeps getting them, yet PS3 has a week of nothing? Very poor, and I'm personally sick and tired of waiting for thursdays for the store to be updated. Now that I've got a 360 again, I can see my PS3 becoming a dust collector. Wake me up when Uncharted hits.
I mean, I do take their reviews into consideration, but I've never gone by one site/magazine's review anyway, and I'm sure most of you don't either. Ratchet is a fantastic game, bottem line, so who cares if one Gamespot reviewer didn't find it to be a 9?
Memory is so frickin' cheap these days, even the PSP bundle gives you a 1gb stick. M$ needs to stop ripping people off when it comes to memory. How hard would it have been to throw in a 2gb memory card so at least new 360 owners can get a taste of XBL demo downloads? I'm sorry but the 360 'tardpack doesn't deliver the complete Xbox 360 experience. The 50% online is a lie created to justify the 'tardpack. It wasn't long ago that M$ touted over 7 million people on XBL. Considering at the time t...
It's not going to happen anyway. Perhaps in the next generation.
But I think it's becoming clear that unless the PS3 takes the sales lead over 360 by a large margin, and improves its development tools for third parties, the 360 will continue to be the lead system for multiplatform development.
Until that happens the supposed power of the cell, and extra storage of the Blu Ray won't be explored by anyone outside Sony which in my opinion renders them a waste.
I'm happy to see that Bethesda hasn't forgotten the PS3 when it comes to extra content. It's a shame the PS3 didn't get the two free extra content downloads (fighter's strongholds & Mehrune's Razor) 360 owners got.
@1st reply- How many people (outside of parents)are really going to buy an Xbox 360 system as a gift? If junior wants a 360 from someone other than his family he's more likely to receive a gift card so he can buy what he wants.
If the person buying the 360 can't afford $70 difference between dumbed down and greatness, then that person should save his money a bit more until he can buy the better system rather then shell out far more money down the road. The 360 is a luxury item, not a ...
The stockholders wanted it on PS2 to maximize sales, so even if Kojima himself says it's exclusive, it's not his choice. While I firmly believe FF13 is PS3 only, I think Metal Gear Solid 4 will hit the 360 by the end of 2008.
Times have changed, and Konami knows this game will sell like gangbusters on the 360 in the US. Why keep such a huge game locked down to the smallest installed base?
