I was actually the opposite of disappointed. I think it's a fantastic game that was far better than I expected...which was a standard platformer that looked nice. I was hooked from the first 10 minutes. Beautiful, touching story, tight controls, solid gameplay, plenty of power ups, challenging but not impossible. How could you be disappointed in that? Especially for $20.
oh wow. thats just all kinds of pointless and dumb. at what point did anyone stop at look down at their controller in the dark and wonder what buttons were what? i dunno about you guys but i don't remember the last time i actually even looked at a controller while playing.
hmm... if it didn't make much sense to read a few more sentences explaining why the phrase "much better hardware" continues to irk me then reading must be really labor intensive for you... or you're just closed minded.
let me make sense of it for you.
xbox one without kinect does 1.41 tflops
ps4 does about 1.82 tflops
a radeon r9 390x does 8.6 tflops.
question: which one seems like a slight bump in power and...
"PS4 has a much better hardware than the Xbox One"
well... it has slightly better hardware, not much better. if it were much better it would be able to hang with PC's better. the power differences result in 900p on x1 and 1080p on ps4 for heavy games and 720p x1 to 900p ps4 resolution on really heavy games which is a fairly small margin to compare difference imo. pc's are capable of running 4k (2160p) at 60 fps with the right setup... that is what i person...
if im being completely honest, the themes i've seen so far are mostly disappointing (with a few exceptions). i was also expecting the dynamic themes to be cooler and more clever. most of them feel kinda phoned in...
how does one go about building a theme?
coming to pc as well. sony probably wouldn't let that happen if they did.. hence no bloodborne, driveclub and the order etc not being available for pc either.
meh all around for me personally...
i freaking love spotify so this is a win for me.
yeah but spotify is just better.
I didn't hate the order but I didn't love it. It was way overhyped. As a movie it's just ok and as a game it's kinda boring, sometimes tedious and even feels a bit lazy. Like with driveclub all the effort seems to have gone into visuals, while the gameplay feels diminished and stripped. Thankfully bloodborne arrived. It's flashy but also fun and has plenty of depth and mystery to make it intriguing and challenging.
Not for me personally but I'm glad to see the ps4 finally get a well received exclusive (that's not a remastered ps3 game). I personally am eagerly awaiting uncharted 4 and gt7
i think its getting great reception because its considered a great title and people are enjoying it. i think we cry bias when we have expectations of a game being a certain level of "good" based on hype created from the fanbase and media. One thing is for certain though is you shouldn't have to convince people that a game is good or bad. if its good you know it. if its bad you know it.
Been there, done that.... On ps3. Sick of remasters. I love the GoW series, but If I just wanted to keep playing my ps3 library I wouldn't have purchased a ps4 and could save a bunch of money. Hell, my tv has PlayStation Now built into it and upscales everything to 4k. Almost as good as a remaster right there.
nice one. i had a feeling this would review well.
The moment of truth. I have a feeling it will review well.
@khajiit86:
metal gear solid was originally on Nintendo

yes there are a lot of ps4 owners out there, but directX is far more ubiquitous than ICE. you have to consider that PC's and 360 consoles can and do use directX as well.
not a huge souls fan personally but i can certainly appreciate bloodborne as a spectator. it looks pretty awesome. this could be the first proper critic scoring ps4 exclusive to boot so double win. people who have played it seem to be pretty happy with it.
From a boot up, gtav started instantly. On the ps4 it takes 15 secs after boot. Worth mentioning too that the tv is an app on X1 so technically it booted up, went to one app and then fast switched over to gta which was still loaded and running
I am admittedly not a souls fan. Too much for me. I was not necessarily excited for bloodborne for this reason alone. I knew it would be well received but didn't think it was for me personally. Once it hit, and all the reviews were amazing, I was more intrigued. I read so much positive feedback that I thought I should maybe give it a try after all so I bought it. In this case, journalisms "failure" convinced me to try something I didn't think I would enjoy. I love it. I...
