VITA is a glorified electronic toy while the Ipad 3 is more of a productivity unit that can also double as a toy.
Anyway, it depends on what type of "gamer" you are to consider w/c is best for you.
pretty sure VITA graphics (yes graphics, I didn't say gameplay depth and control accuracy) would be "meh" later this year or after the next tablet refresh. (after seeing Infinity Blade Dungeons).

The only poor I found about DS1 was the aiming. Everything else was bearable.
I even prefer DS1's industrial, low color palette art style. More atmospheric.

BF 3 looks so "monochromatic/colorblind " compared to other modern shooters like Crysis 2 (wider color palette).
