Interesting how different everyone's list in the article was.
My personal opinion:
1.Classic Rare
2.Nintendo
3.Squaresoft (not enix)
4.Valve
5.Naughty Dog
Man imagine if Rare was still as strong with all the same devs making games today. That would be amazing.
Just watched Let's Play videos of Mario 3D world and it literally looks like the most fun game this year. I mean just genuine fun that makes you laugh and quarrel with friends. I gotta say the gaming industry has been missing this simple quality for some time and it is sad to see.
Incredibly well said. It's thoughts like these that give me hope that gamers can become an open-minded and sound thinking consumer base someday.
@DarthZoolu
"Sony and MS are ready to kill each other for my money and attention and I love it."
No, no they are not. That is what people don't get. This console war is incredibly overhyped. Sony and MS are watching each other closely and trying to be competitive, but at the end of the day they assume they both will continue to exist and gamers will pick what they want based on choice. They want to beat their competitor, but this notion that the...
Lol so you bought the console and are complaining about only having bought 2 games? Sounds like you don't know how to research your potential purchases before you buy. Regardless of how good or bad Nintendo does, you should probably take a look at yourself for that.
SSM and Naughty Dog are awesome devs in their own right, but what you have just described represents what would be the darkest day in gaming.
Meteor Smash you say? My play ability with this character has just increased tenfold.
This doesn't mean Nintendo is out of the woods, but this is great news. The worst part is how much bias is proven from this about N4g (as if it weren't already obvious). This has barely any views and the people who love to harp on Nintendo the most are nowhere to be found here. At least thepcz had the balls to come and spew the usual nonsense about a price cut when they just dropped the price to take a bigger launch.
Well it is up to your personal preferences. I would say the way to go is to get both with Wii U now and PS4 sometime February or beyond. You can save up for the PS4 later and I just naturally assume it is better to wait for the bugs to be worked out. I also am not really excited for anything in the launch line-up, but will get my PS4 when Second Son comes out. I will end up with all consoles, but this gen for gamers with a budget, it still seems like Wii U and PS4 is a good way to go.
you shouldn't be making these comments here. You should be making them on miiverse. That is where the best changes have come from listening to the fans.
lol one bad thing about n4g is repeat articles. I'm sure this article that has already been discussed like 10 times, will show up from 10 more sources.
Good blog. I read in a Q&A with Nintendo investors that it mentioned Nintendo's focus to keep online free. One of the investors made a claim that it doesn't seem to feasible for Nintendo to keep free online if their install base grows. I wonder if the underlying reason for the lack of online (which I agree we need online in these games) is that they are worried about it getting used to the point where they will have to charge to maintain it. Just a theory of course.
No need to highlight the because. I know it probably won't help sales, but the original didn't do that well on 2 consoles with large install bases.
"they wasted retro's ability on that new DK game too. they should have had them make a new metroid game. that would have done it."
Sorry but as awesome as a new metroid by retro would be, that game consistently sells less than all the games you mentioned before so if games like mariokart and smash don't do it, then metroid definitely wouldn't.
If they were gonna do that it should have been early this year. Re-branding now is gonna cause more confusion.
This game suffers from red steel syndrome. The first red steel wanted to stand out as an original game to implement motion controls. And it was an awesome concept, but the game had a lot of problems. Then Red Steel 2 came out and fixed a number of those issues. Now Zombie U comes with an awesome concept and great use of gamepad to build suspense, but had other basic game issues. If they had an opportunity to make a sequel that fixed those issues and bring out the best in the game like red ste...
I think it is unrealistic to think any console will sell 100 million+ anymore. And I definitely don't think we will see PS2 or DS level sales anymore either. But yeah the Wii U will probably be pretty far away from Wii sales. If that makes it more like the gamecube then I will gladly be along for the ride.
Well I know you are a business enthusiast so of course you would know that every company has a different amount of funds they set aside for marketing so having money doesn't necessarily mean that the money is going to marketing. So I assume that question was just a joke.
Yeah but it was my understanding those are not on TV. If they are then good cuz they need to really make their product clear to consumers.
Oh man how did I ever feel rewarded from playing a game before achievements were made? I must have never had any gamer cred before then...sarcasm.
But seriously even though I could care less, if people want this system why not implement it.
