New IP does not automatically equal creativity. Take The Last of Us. That game was fantastic (just finished 2nd playthrough) and was a new IP, but nothing about that game hasn't been done before in some form (not necessarily just video games). Yeah it seems gamers are pretty close-minded when comes to hardware and control methods. If it isn't a standard controller people whine and moan. I know the tech isn't foolproof yet but chances are when it finally is, companies will not be trying anything new anymore because gamers will still be stuck in the past. Ignorance is bliss I suppose.

Actually I don't think the highlight is meant to be in single player. I enjoy the wii u version most because it has more content and because of the asymmetrical gameplay.
