PG should ditch the 2x MSAA and go with the SPU MLAA provided by Sony. It would probably allow them to use a full 1280x720 framebuffer, and yield the same performance, while having better AA to boot. 2x MSAA is relatively expensive for the RSX -- SPU MLAA is the way to go.

The iPhone burns an entire battery charge in about 1/2 hour while playing a UE3 game.
It has the CPU/GPU power, but... having to recharge every 30 mins seems lame.
Adds PS2 emulation does it? Lol. Riiiight.

I know huge MS fans will hate me for saying this but... doesn't a twistable d-pad sound kinda... flimsy plastic breakable component?
Presumably, there's some hardware in there that picks up that the orientation of the dpad has changed, and locks it into place, etc. I think we all know how little plastic stoppers and tabs tend to break, with a little too much force. I can't help but think that this is actually a plan to turn the 360 controller into something more...
Amazing that anyone disagrees with that statement. Are there actually people out there who care more about MS's business plan than they do about the reason they *bought* a 360 for? You know, the GAMES?

Just FYI to those who don't know: Sony will replace controllers with worn-out batteries for free, as I recall (I think you s=till need to pay shipping, much like the 360 coffin).
Also, DualShock3s have lithium ion batteries in them -- which last MUCH longer than the nickel-metal-hydride, etc., rechargables you can buy for the 360. We're talking a good 8-10 years here -- i.e. the entire console generation, and thousands of charges, not the 200 or so charges you tend ...

The problem is that we, 360 owners, already own charge kits.
We like the 360 controller exactly as-is, *except* for the d-pad. Keep the colored buttons, sell a controller without the play-n-charge kit... and that's another two sold, for me. For almost any fighting game fans, even.
What am I gonna do with two MORE play-and-charge kits? I only bought them for the cables anyway.
I hope Kinect does great this holiday season. The 360 will become a whole new piece of hardware... like a relaunch, except into the Blue Ocean... wow.
I hope, for their sakes, what I just said makes any hardcore 360 fans feel a little ill. It makes me feel that way. I'll be happy if Gears, Fable, Halo, Crackdown, never have Kinect support... ever. I already cry for Forza 4 -- I'd like that CPU core back.. k thx.

Yep. The XMB is loads better than NXE. You can't even see the entire menu item you're on, let alone the rest of the menu, in NXE, and its overloaded with ads.
The XMB is clean and simple, and extremely easy to navigate. There is no comparison really. The XMB easily trumps NXE.
Yet... you would probably scream bloody murder if the phone company tacked .83 fee per month onto your long distance bill, and might consider changing services to one that doesn't have a fee on top of the calls themselves.
Um, I use it all the time, because I play RPGs? The 360 d-pad is beyond awful. I've screwed up boss fights thanks to it, thus... I despise it.
YES they redesigned the d-pad! ...but in a limited edition? Come on.
The recent 360 sales numbers (>Wii and >PS3 both!) must be making the MS execs mighty proud.
I think they may believe they're unstoppably awesome, and that Kinect will put them ahead of the Wii or something... so time to cash in, right?
MAG won't play like SOCOM 4.
MAG is FPS. S4 is TPS. Bigger difference than you might think. They might both be good, but they won't play the same.
