Better textures in Reach. Bigger environs... or at least more convincing. Makes sense, since MS reduced 30MB of memory from the OS, inbetween Halo 3's time and Reach. I'd say that effective 30MB memory boost just about covers the "how" for the improvements, too.
Sony made a profit on every PSP Go sold to stores, plain and simple.
Unless they overproduced them (which I'm guessing they did not), and have a warehouse full of unsold units, the PSP Go succeeded as a market test, and economically.
I have a Go (and a 2000), and I prefer it to the 2000. The Go has convinced me that I do NOT want portable games in anything OTHER than digital format. I haven't bought a UMD since. Success in my book too.
Harsh. Sounds like the Wii controls suck... but how is it on the PS2 and PSP?
Can't we wait for the released version before we review it?
Why do they need originality? They have 2D platforming to cut-n-paste to the masses. All they need to do for new themes for their games is visit the local craft store... paper, yarn, bean-filled sacs... oh wait not that one...
Honestly, although their 2D platform themes are cute... they're not really that original. I would argue that, while some of the neat gimmicks in SMG, Super Paper Mario, and even Epic Yarn are cool gameplay gimmicks, they don't really represen...
Halo 'Hogs, a kart game, would be... pretty fun, I think. They should go there.
Kneel down before your MS master, 360 gamers, and embrace the awesome Kinect with your wallet!
I might get one next year when they drop the price and some of the new games show promise, but on launch... I don't think so.
I thought for sure it'd be something with psychedelic colors and maybe a little Pink Floyd.
You can, but I choose to use a regular headset, since the Eye picks up like.. everything, including your TV. I think its really meant for personal chatting, not gameplay.
Basically the article's only point is that the repetition of non-plot related gameplay breaks the story, because you invest too much of your own personality into the character?
I guess I kind of see the story as an entertaining way to change the gameplay, not as the ultimate game goal.
If he wants a JRPG, he should play one. Although the sheer amount of killing JRPG characters do is often pretty contrary to their supposedly peaceful/good character nature...
The Sony bluetooth earpiece is amazing. If you can stand earpieces, its definately the way to go.
Halo 1 & 2 are already working with 360 BC> I doubt they'll waste their money making HD remakes, for that reason.
Especially since that would require bringing back XBL support for those older titles, which MS is trying to kill off.
Man I hope it *doesn't* have 3D. I'll take extra shading power instead. Using half your texel/pixel fill for 3D, like the 3DS does, seems like an unreasonable cost, to me.
There was one particular part in Halo 3 where I got pretty frustrated, until I realized there was a way to abuse the AI of the Covenant who liked to jump in the wraiths. Also, toward the end, ammo was pretty dang hard to come by, for the decent weapons. I despise the battle rifles, and it seemed like that, and plasma pistols, was most of the drops by the end.
Other than that, I can't really say I've ever found Halo very challenging, but I haven't finished Reach ...
Sounds like Ubisoft struck up a deal with Sony.
Day 1 for PoP trilogy, for me. It'll probably be better than the PC version was, even.
I agree completely. AMD CPUs are great. AMD (ATI) video cards... not so much.
If you're looking for the best performance first, and looking to save money as well, ATI is usually better.
If you're looking for the best performance, period, or the best performance in a low- or mid-range card, nVidia is better. nVidia really only overcharges for the high-end of the moment.
3Dfx used to go on and on about how 16-bit color buffers were what mattered for serious gaming, and "thus" nVidia's better 32-bit performance "didn't matter". We know how that turned out.
I liked 3Dfx, back in the day, but in my book, ATI has always kinda stunk. The last two ATI cards I bought, a X1650 Pro and a HD 2600 Pro, both advertised themselves as being comparable to nVidia's lineup of the day (the 7600 GT and 8600 GT, respectively), b...
...wow. I may have to buy a 3D TV just for this game.. and I've already finished it!
Most patches involve multiplayer, which is pretty hard to test thoroughly without thousands of players. You can't afford to pay thousands of players to play your game, unfortunately. Most beta testers don't even do their jobs -- they just play the betas as free demos, and never report issues.
Either you deal with patches, or you don't ask for complicated multiplayer, that's the bottom line.
