I thought the Paper Mario was a 3D remake of the N64 Paper Mario?

I won't get one until their games lineup includes at least a couple decent NEW games that I haven't played before.

Too many good games out there, for me to bother with replaying games I've already experienced. I game for the new story and gameplay experience, not the "wow" factor of seeing the same thing, but in "3D" on a tiny screen. 3D yeah.. neat. Worth investing 100s of hours to replay games I already played? Nope.

He gets some facts wrong -- like the sample rate of the PSEye (its 60 Hz, and the Kinect depth camera is 30 Hz... so it is 2x as fast as he states, but he got the numbers wrong). Otherwise his review seems pretty spot-on, to me.

His comments about Move being the only 3D shutter-capable motion controller is particularly interesting. The fact that its also the only real "augmented reality" controller, really says a lot about its coolest differences from, and advanta...

Day 1, if its as powerful, relative to the 3DS, as the PSP was to the DS. 3D doesn't matter to me.

The 3DS, on the other hand, I already know I'm going to wait a good year+ for the price to drop, and some non-ports to show up in the library.

It's not going to be in 3D on the 360, so there's not really a choice to be had.

Won't be very useful in the US or EU, though.

Kinect:
30 Hz depth sample rate: 33ms
10-15ms Kinect overhead processing time: 10-15ms

= minimum 43-48ms + game loop synchronization, and TV lag

Standard 360 controller:
125 Hz sample rate: 8ms
OS overhead input processing time: ~1ms or less

= minimum 9ms + game loop synch and TV lag.

Looks like 34-39ms longer to me, at a minimum, with no frame averaging, to smooth out jittery input. It's ...

Downside of it being bluetooth, and not requiring a tether -- you might throw it if you were doing gestures.

This rumor has been debunked already. Sony stated that sale of the PSP kits will resume after some time has passed, and that they will renew the licenses on current kits as well -- they're probably just upgrading the hardware, and aren't producing older kits any longer, so they have limited numbers for sale.

Basically, this rumor is suggesting something akin to "PSPs no longer sold! PSP is gone", because the PSP-2000 came out, and replaced the 1000.

If you guys even read the text in the N4G post, let alone the article, you'd realize that Sony is only stopping sale of the kits temporarily.

They're probably upgrading the hardware to something smaller/cheaper, and the next iteration of devkits will be cheaper as a result. Maybe smaller too.

Nothing to see here, really.

MLAA has been added to a couple games, post-release, like MAG v2.0, and is supposedly very easy to tack on, with the PS3 SDK implementation. I agree that some in-development games may have chosen not to use it because of the point in the dev cycle they were in, when it became readily available, but... Not for a decent reason, IMO, if it truly is "less than 1 weeks time" for a single engineer.

Its a huge performance, and quality, benefit for very little work. There...

Demon's Souls came out before MLAA was a part of the PS3 SDK, and available for anyone to use. Just thought I'd point that out.

It is odd that the developer didn't implement MLAA on the PS3 version, since its basically free, unless you're using the SPUs for something else after the RSX is done with a frame (which is really rare). Almost like someone twisted their arm, to make the versions identical.

Same goes for the movies being the same on...

Interesting disparity between the pricing. Gee, why does it cost so much more, for so much less, on XB Live?

Most portable handheld gaming device on the planet. I bought a 32GB mem stick 2 for it as well, and I am extremely happy with my purchase.

And wow, do I love that "pause" feature, which lets you save any game, any time, any where, to the built-in flash drive.

Target had a deal on PSP Go just last week -- $200, and you got 3 free games with it (LBP, Ratchet & Clank, and one other that I forget -- I got mine earlier for $230). Lots of the older ...

Um... firmware updates come with games that need them.

If someone brings their PS3 to BestBuy (or anywhere), and asks for a firmware update, because they don't have internet, and are unwilling to purchase games... then the store should charge whatever the heck they want to for that service.

Is BestBuy a charity now? Helps the needy non-game-buying PS3 owner because they need their firmware charity?

If you ask someone to do it for you, y...

From the IGN review:

"That said, Lords of Shadow also has framerate issues on the Xbox 360. It can drop when the action heats up -- or just during a cut scene. During one cinematic moment the game was literally chugging at just a few frames per second. Gabriel has a useful instant-kill move he can inflict on weaker enemies, but the game freezes for a moment every time he uses it. The game runs more smoothly on the PlayStation 3."

I actually think this is kinda sad. Their own engineers aren't brave enough to take on the task themselves? No curiosity? No drive to make something cool on a different architecture?

Now that I've been playing with it for a while, I'm starting to really do well with the Move. At first it was a little tricky, but now I've got my sensitivity settings about maxed, and, with the exception of sniping (which is hard, for me), I find that I usually get the drop on DualShock 3 players (which I assume most everyone else is), in most games -- I can almost always land more shots than the enemy, in a surprise encounter and close-to-medium range.
