"Action MMO" says "MAG clone" to me, but with Halo or CoD flavor, and a subscription fee.
The money has no control over development... riiight.
I think you misunderstand the way the games industry, and all money-fronting industries like it, work. A publisher has complete control if they choose. The question is, will Activision choose to exercise that control, or allow Bungie to have creative freedom?
History tells us that Activision will want control.
Activision.... lol.
They think they can turn some Halo/CoD/MAG hybrid into a subscription cashcow like WoW. I wonder if they actually hire anyone, at an executive level, who understands how gamers think, or who can analyze the market in a realistic manner. Or are they just business robots with no clue, believing that the games industry is a clone of the toy industry?
@Computersaysno
In practice (like Folding@Home), the Cell is MUCH faster than almost any desktop CPU or GPU.
...and the only desktop CPUs that top it, have over 3x (~3.2x, actually) the transistors, and the Cells used in Folding@Home actually only use 6 of their 8 SPUs as well. If you made a Cell with as many transitors as the high-end i7s that best it, you'd have 3 PPUs and ~27 SPUs, and you'd wipe the floor with any other chip.

...or maybe some people own PSPs and not PS3s? There are 65M PSPs in consumer hands.
Article == totally uninformed.
I was going to score the PC version anyway... after a GotY edition comes out.
Can they call it "Game of the Year" even when its not? Maybe they'll call it "Ultimate GPU requirement" edition.
MoH looked good before.
It was the horribly buggy scripting that upset me with that game. They should fix that.
It's easiest to overtake your opponent when their score is still "0", as I understand it.
Undoubtably the author learned this fact from playing loads of video games, like I myself have done. I have no doubt that the 3DS will outsell the NGP for at least 5 or 6 months.
...you guys are pushin' it, with regards to calling atomic and subatomic particles being "round" at all.
I think you should stop paying so much attention to your tinker-toy concepts of how you think things are, and start paying attention to what I'm saying. Computer graphics are a representation of how we *see* things. Think about how light reflects off these objects. Light does not magically bounce around as though it were reflected off things in a magic...
You could argue that anything "round" is usually merely composed of bazillions of molecules that have a non-round shape.
In other words, they're effectively tiny subshapes (you could think of them as polygons). There's no such thing as "round", in the real world, either.
Back to your comment, why would you want something that wasn't actually realistic again? You realize that ray-tracing is done against shapes that have to be ...
To be fair to IW, their engine is pretty decent as-is... if they still have the skills to use it.
Compare Black Ops and MW2. MW2 wipes the floor with Black Ops -- they use the same engine though. In the end, creative skill has as much, or more, to do with how good a game looks, than the engine does.
Heck, take a look at Gears.. awesome. Now take a look at your typical UE3 game... meh. Its not the engine that's at fault here.
Lol. You just told every MAG player that you've never played MAG, or even read a review of it.
Nothing like plodding through life being completely ignorant, is there? Blissful, right?
Nah, just because those early games were for Windows doesn't mean MS published them.
MS published MW3 and Crimson Skies -- that's what I'm talking about.
4 million PS3s with Moves would be about 7 million Moves, according to some attach rate estimates.
How is this a PS3 story? (mods, please edit the tags)
Wow, XBots are STILL afraid of MAG and what it means for future console shooters on the console that they don't choose.
That's a statement, right there.
Technically, they made 2 for MS.
The MechWarrior IP was purchased by MS just before Zipper finished MechWarrior 3.
MW3 still stands up as better than MW4, too, and the only thing even close to MW2, as far as the series goes.
"Man I hate these articles."
"I personally don't play MAG."
So... why are you posting here?
"every AMD 5xxx series or Nvidia Fermi GPU's "
and
"5770 is a mid range card, thats why it chugs when you enable the high end features"
...so you guys made my point for me then.
@hoops: Do you honestly believe that the cards capable of effectively utilizing these features represent a significant portion of the actual PC game userbase? If you do, you have a long way to go before you touch ground.
Wow. The review knocks the graphics of a $1.00 game. I think they look fine?
