@tinchotin Well, what I meant is it isn't a Wii U or Vita situation, but yeah I agree that the XB1's foot is riddled with bullet holes.

Lulz. It's clear that only Nintendo's name lends itself well to that kind of play on the word "indie".

If I had a dollar every time someone, myself included, thought one company or another would benefit from an idea, whether it be for a game, service or something else entirely, I'd probably live in a nice mansion right now. That said, I get where you're coming from as I think Sony could benefit from a proper Smash-like game.

Possibly. I'm not going to jump to any conclusions, but a Switch equivalent to a Pro or X would be an alright addition to the Switch family. It's hard to say if that's something Nintendo will actually do though.

They usually wait a little while after a model hits to introduce a new variant of it. Some more colours would be nice, but I don't think that's treated as a different SKU. I could be wrong, but I don't think that's it. An "XL" would kind of defeat the purpose, since a mainline Switch is kind of that already, and then some. I'm thinking it might be a SKU for the regular Switch, though I'm not going to speculate as to what that entails.

That wasn't unexpected though. The XB1 is far from a failure, but its success has only been moderate. The Switch was projected to outsell it from the start. Outselling a highly successful system for its time like the SNES on the other hand, is quite an accomplishment. Clearly console sales have mostly gone up gen after gen, but it's still an achievement to hit a milestone like that.

No, it's not IMHO. I have my issues with Nintendo, and I can't help but wonder why their fandom puts up with a lot of their crooked BS. But, the UI on the Switch...while not all that special, also hasn't been a problem for me. I guess I'm not one to complain about menus though unless they're difficult to use, but I can't think of a console where I've ever had a problem with that.

Maybe it's because I've played countless games and used ...

Wow, I’m going through the exact same struggle. Maybe I should set a resolution to get through my backlog...or at least a good chunk of it (my backlog is probably too massive to get through in my lifetime).

I agree that your picks are good choices too, but Stardew Valley especially is an excellent game, and the spiritual follow-up to Back to Nature I wish we got from Marvelous years prior.

Looks like I’m lucky that I was able to write my Switch and one game off as a work expense on my taxes. I have the best job ever, I swear. I do agree that Nintendo need to stop being crooks with the pricing of their older games though, since literally no other company is doing what they do.

Because everyone knows Life of Black Tiger takes them both to school...in the dumpster fire category.

I really enjoyed the third game in this series (was fortunate to pick it up post-update), but I think the second one has the edge on this one. One of the good Mass Effect games isn’t a bad choice for game of the decade though. I’ll have to give some thought as to what my personal pick would be.

They clearly haven’t played enough games. I’ve played too many to count in my day, so even choosing one per genre is quite difficult.

2363d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Why? They’ve been struggling to support a base system as it is. They don’t need to add another device into the mix.

I'm more unhappy that they figured out that they can charge double the price and cut half the dex, and people will still buy it. But you know what? They're apparently bigger than Disney, another company who figured out they can try less and still rake in billions. That's just the way things are nowadays. If you want a better product, you probably shouldn't look to the biggest media companies in the world to provide it anymore.

Thank goodness for all th...

Yep. Thanks Epic. I still won't support you, but thanks for the free games anyways.

I think it's valid to say Sony or Nintendo won, based on whatever your preference is. I'm more in camp PlayStation, but the Switch had a good year too. MS earns a participation ribbon. At least they had a big exclusive this year, even if it's not the gamechanger they were hoping for. Yeah...they really need to step things up if they want to be awarded anything but a participation ribbon. Is there any point in having a bronze medal in a race with three participants? Yeah...I ...

It's a neat little system that's great for indie and Japanese games, and first party titles. It has done quite well for itself and I can see it continuing to do so, as long as Nintendo doesn't get complacent and continues to support it in a satisfactory manner. If anything about the upcoming systems poses a threat to the Switch, it's not so much power as it is the fact that the Switch won't be the latest thing anymore. But, it can continue to ride the waves as long as N...

Yeah, this is far from the only example I've seen of headlines that convey the opposite of what the article actually does.
