The future of gaming is what the consumer decides it is. Companies can try and sway the consumer in any number of ways, but it is we who ultimately decide what to do with our money. We will see what the future holds but I for one am not interested in a subscription-based future.
Maybe because there aren't high-profile JRPGs left to localize currently? What constitutes high-profile and which of those titles haven't made their way over here? You do realize that JRPGs that don't exist cannot be localized because...they don't exist, right? Japanese devs need to make them first, as Western publishers need a game to localize anything. Sure, there are JRPGs that don't make it over here, but I don't know if I would call them high-profile. Is ther...
Because people care more about actual key selling points like games, and less about neat but nonessential features.
I was indifferent towards Nadine, but I did like the flashbacks with Sam and Nate. I'm sure Amy's version of Uncharted 4 would have been good too, but I'm happy with what we got.
I’d love it if they did, but I don’t think that’s possible. I’d love to be proven wrong though.
I didn’t expect either to be very good, so for me, neither.
Well, you can try and censor dissenting opinions but people with half a brain still won’t be buying your dung heaps, EA.
Persona 5 isn’t censored.
I'm down for that. Bring on the games.
@Frinker, I agree but Jak isn't a Japanese developed franchise, and this is an article about the Japanese side of things.
It means some of the major Western AAA companies aren't good at managing their budget. EA has proven their terrible at it, and it doesn't surprise me in the least that Activision is also in that boat. Are these companies really showing record profits, if profit = revenue - expenses, or is the author of this article confusing profit with revenue which are two different things? If I had to hazard a guess the latter seems to be the case. Revenue may be up, but it's also possible ...
That’s good. I guess I haven’t been following her that closely. It was the right decision regardless.
Amy’s leaving EA? Hallelujah! Here’s hoping more writers and directors get wise and leave them too.
@tehpees3, I’ll concede that, but that’s not what Masterchief_thegoat said. He said there are no good third party games on the Vita which is a blatant falsehood. My post was in response to that.
The Vita was underrated, but it is true that it wasn't all it could have been. I still have my Vita actually, and while I don't play it nearly as often anymore, I'm glad I have it. The Switch definitely addresses all of the Vita's issues though, so I will give it that.
Persona 4 Golden, Soul Sacrifice (and its sequel Delta), Toukiden (and its sequel Kiwami) Freedom Wars and Corpse Party Blood Drive aren't great third party games? I'll give you most other points, and even say that its lineup could have been far better, but there weren't zero great third party games. First party was nearly non-existent and dried up before very long, but it was third party that carried the system to cult status.
Granted, much of that consiste...
Someone put that many hours into Fallout 76? Perhaps they should be banned just for that. On the flip side, someone actually enjoyed the game so much to put that many hours into it, so shouldn’t Bethesda be praising them? I mean, this isn’t a good Fallout so I doubt there are many more such players.
Really? Sweet, I'll make a point of checking my inbox then.
Flammable village, this way.
EA owns them, so they can't leave. Perhaps some Bioware employees should leave and form their own company, but the company known as Bioware is just another EA studio.
