Rape sims cross a line that should never be crossed, but it seems like 99.99% of times when people get offended by stuff it's over something really stupid that isn't actually all that offensive or controversial. Besides, the rhetoric here doesn't specify what kind of violence against women these politicians are opposed to, meaning fighting games have violence against women and therefore should be regulated. Never mind that fighting games also involve men inciting violence agains...
The ME Trilogy could be on all three major consoles, but because that would be too awesome, it’s not going to happen for any of them.
About the only thing that offends me is how long it’s taking for so many major characters to make it into the game. They can dress their characters how they want though, and I’m glad someone hasn’t lost their mind by trying to pander to a ridiculous crowd.
Well...if a zombie apocalypse happened an unfortunate implication is that some people who became zombies would be children. So...ok, points for realism.
@the disagrees: So you’re either saying people should be equally offended by fan service as they are by a literal rape sim, or that raising controversy is never ok even if something does legitimately tread into controversial territory? It’s good to know what kind of people visit this site.
I’m simply advocating for people picking their battles and to stop getting offended over stupid things, because there are things that are way more iffy out there. Sure, fiction is ficti...
Ok, fair enough on this one Valve. I wish people weren’t treating girls in bikinis as a horrible thing to shield the children from when there’s stuff like this where controversy makes a lot more sense. There’s being sensible and there’s being paranoid. Alas, there seem to be so few examples of the former these days.
@Erolyn I'm surprised no one has created a game yet where there are no males in the game at all, and the game's world is entirely run by women, and the female lead will fight female adversaries. Heck, while they're at it they can make sure none of the game's cast is entirely White either. All the broads could be Black, Asian, Hispanic, etc. Oh, and they could all practice Islam so the devs can prove they're not Islamophobic. The game's cast will also be appropriate...
Has The Guardian ever played a DoA game? I’m assuming not.
Neither does Phil apparently, if his recent statement is any indication.
MS really needs to hire someone who’s good at coming up with names for their Xbox systems.
It doesn't go with the medieval theme, and parents are way too sensitive nowadays to not send complaints to The Pokemon Company over something as stupid as their title referencing firearms. Pokemon Bow or Crossbow, or maybe Pokemon Spear would sound far more credible. Heck, so would Pokemon Armor. That said, I would buy it.
There's some pretty stiff competition from the NES, SNES, N64 and GameCube on the console side, and the Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, DS and 3DS on the handheld side (along with their various models), so while I think the Switch is a solid system, it's not safe to say anything. Sure, you're entitled to your opinion, but there's room for opinions that disagree with yours. Oh, and the Wii and Wii U were a thing too. Because gimmicks. At least they had the excellen...
I think I would be more than mildly annoyed if my console got bricked. I would treat that as treason and never buy the products of a company whose game did that ever again.
Yep, kind of like how a particular Wendy's my weekly bible study/board game group meets at is trying to outslow its city's KFC/Taco Bell. It's fighting a losing battle, mind you. No one can outslow that KFC/Taco Bell. On the other hand, Anthem does have ammunition to work with in the disaster contest they started, especially if this bricking consoles thing is true.
Actually yeah, a remake of the first game in either series would be amazing.
Call me when the Switch actually tops the PS4's lifetime sales. That said, it is doing really well, I'll give it that. I expect it will surpass the XB1 in no time.
Translation: “We didn’t sell enough Xboxes this gen so we’re trying to find more creative ways to increase profits.” Also, if it’s games that sell, maybe consider making more that people want to play. Just a suggestion.
Nope, but only because it isn't worth the time of day to give it such vitriol.
I'd love to help waste some of EA's money. The only problem is I would have to lie and I don't like doing that. Hmmm...
Oh no. Whatever shall we do with out an EA press conference. How else will we know how they plan to continue screwing over the consumer? /s
