If I ever made something and it found it's way into a game without my consent, I doubt I'd care. Depending on what it is of course. Since there are those folks over in Asia who literally rip content from games and "make" their own games from the assets.
A single texture wouldn't bother me. I'd just ask to have my work mentioned in the credits or something. They get my work for free, I get free advertising in one of the biggest games of the year.
What Abriael said is absolutely true. F2P games also usually end up being pay-to-win and you lose potential quality.
When you compare Final Fantasy XIV: ARR to most F2P MMO's, you'll see an instant, distinct difference in quality. Even in it's Beta form it's better than most F2P, or Pay-to-Enter MMOs.
I'd rather pay the price every month knowing every item in the game will be bought using Gil, and it won't take 10 years to get the am...
I watch it every year for the game reveals (Naughty Dog's games are always announced there). I'm usually doing something else at the same time tho.
The controls are much easier on PC, that is very true. But when I played it on the Vita for a good, accidental, 3 and a half hours last night I seemed to have no issue moving the camera and moving at the same time.
Honestly, I'm playing it better now on the Vita than I did on PC. I don't know if it's because the controls force me into a more "assault-like" gameplay style, or because they dumbed down the enemy reaction time.
It's ju...
I'm honestly not surprised. Japanese folks love anything horror from what I've heard/seen. And given how much better Last of Us handles it in comparison to many, many films and games, I would have guessed they'd love this game.
Hopefully Naughty Dog helps push others to make better products. And maybe this will confirm with Capcom that Survival Horror is still big, and maybe, just maybe, we'll see Resident Evil and Silent Hill (Konami) return to it's roots...
Wow, aren't you ignorant?
Indie Developers are the current way of experiencing new and different games without having to spend $60, and without them going out of business if their game doesn't sell over 500k copies.
Without them, and a few big publishers/developers, we'd having nothing but games that attempt to be like Call of Duty. Not saying Call of Duty itself is bad, but the fact that we would go to a game store and ONLY see a man walking towa...
She did swear a lot, but I didn't have a problem with it. In fact, I loved that this happened since most developers usually pussyfoot around swearing in games. I felt it fit the universe perfectly fine, and actually added to it's realism.
And anyone who says 'nobody swears that much' needs to realize that everyone is different and some (most) people swear while in high-stress environments, and eventually it just becomes second nature. Especially if they're...
Ellie. I liked Elizabeth, and it was cool she handed you ammo, salts and health when you really needed it, but Ellie did all that, AND actually fought enemies and acted as a decoy when the AI detected you needed it.
Honestly, it felt at times like I was playing with another player during combat. She was incredibly useful.
And honestly, if you complain about what the friendly AI does out of combat, you really should rethink your priorities. How many times di...
If this comes out on the Vita (in NA) I'll buy it. I already did the same thing for Totori and it was fantastic.
I think one of the greatest things about this game is that the PlayStation and Xbox fans who used to get into heated arguments about Halo can instead both talk about their enjoyment with Destiny, regardless of what platform they play on.
Considering the PS4 is sold out, this isn't saying much. You're comparing something that has nothing left to sell with something that is still selling.
I'd guess the PS4 that is currently still accepting pre-orders (that was only up for 3 days, compared to XboxOne's 4 days) will soon overtake the XboxOne in not too long.
Yeah, Nintendo will be around for a while. They still hold some of the best IP's in the industry. Even though most of them are rehashes, they still manage to be ridiculously fun.
Maybe more so for people like myself who've grown up playing Nintendo games.
Wow. First Sony doom and gloom with PS3/Vita, then Microsoft with XboxOne and now Nintendo? I thought they were in a shitty position not too long ago, but I still found myself buying a Wii-U and 3DS for Mario (SOME, I'm sick of the side-scrollers), Zelda, Animal Crossing and Monster Hunter.
But if anything bad were to happen, I could see either Sony or Apple trying to buy them out, or else they'd pull a Sega.
Uncharted series, Last of Us, Tomb Raider 2013, Mass Effect series, KillZone series, MGS series, Halo series, Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, and the list goes on.
There are tons of high quality single player games out there. And you don't even have to look hard to see them.
I actually enjoy that there are more connected Co-op games like Destiny and Division. Since we've been smacked SUPER hard with nothing but Single Player ONLY (with maybe 1 or 2 hor...
I agree, but I think (like mentioned below) he's doing this to advertise his engine. Let everyone see how it runs on Multiple Platforms.
Then again, I think at this point, Metal Gear is now a fully multiplatform series. Regardless of what we want, or where the game truly got big, it's going to be on all platforms, including PC.
If it runs well, with little to no framedrops and is as beautiful, or more beautiful, than exclusives on my platform, I'll play the living daylights out of the game.
But if it turns out to be another ported down multiplat... IGNORED.
See, I fully support the idea that if I purchase my game and it includes online play (which most games need online passes) I am completely entitled to playing that portion for free. I already paid my $60, and the data is on the disc, let me play.
BUT, this isn't an issue for me since PS+ is a great service in itself. I've been using PS+ since it launched and haven't ever considered getting rid of it. People need to rethink how they see subscription services coming...
And I'd say that's a fairly nice chunk made by Sony on each console.
If they make a full $80 on each console sold, they can earn ~$400,000,000 off 5 Million PS4's. And I'd say they'll definitely hit that worldwide without any issue before year end.
Then you count money made (after making back costs) on 3 first party launch titles (among other games), and PS+ Subscription profits.
I think the PS4 may very well make Sony a...
I don't really have any idea which edition I pre-ordered, but I pre-ordered 2 last night as soon as I saw Amazon.ca had them. So here's to hoping I get at least one on launch day.
PS4's launch can't come soon enough!
What ifritAlkhemyst says is pretty much how it is. Took me about 5 hours tho, and I doubt I'll get everything else as fast as him lol.
It's very different depending on skill. But if you want to play something completely different, I'd highly suggest buying it. It's only $9.99 on the PSN, and you get both the Vita and PS3 versions.
But if you have a decent PC and proper mouse (not mousepad on a laptop), wait for a Steam sale and buy it there....
