Why is this listed in "Android"? It is not an Android game, doesn't run on Android and Android is not even mentioned in the review.

Congrats Hicken, it seems that you are one of two people that actually READ the article and caught a major flaw in the sports game comments. Yes, I missed FIFA (and BLB and Hot Shots Golf and a few others). Thanks for at least reading the article.

I liked it because I hate running games, the 3D graphics and setting make it far more entertaining for me than 2D running games.

Kind of like how I cannot stand tower defense titles but I love Plants vs Zombies for some reason. Go figure.

Apparently not at this time. It is on PC but only from non-Steam sources at this time.

I was the same way about it. I only really gave it a chance after seeing my fiancée playing it a lot (this is the only Android game she will play).

We reviewed this title at Video Game Cowboys awhile back, it garnered a 60 out of 100 for anyone interested.

The main point of these reviews is to show the capabilities of the JXD S601 Android Gaming Device.

Games like this on Vita could make me buy one. I bet it does indeed look gorgeous on the Vita's screen.

Yeah, The Immortal was an interesting take on the RPG/Adventure genre. I liked it a lot on NES but moreso on the Genesis thanks to the slightly better color palette though the speed seemed quite similar to the 8-Bit version.

We almost got one on the Saturn with Fighting Force, I can't remember why Sega pulled support for it but it was to be a continuation of the series on, then, modern systems. Imagine if it had happened? We could be on SoR 7 or 8 by now. Man, that depresses me. lol

Crystalis is indeed a sadly missed remake in the making. Why didn't SNK make it on the Neo Geo, or at least the Neo Geo CD system? There were fans of more genres than just beat em ups for that system.

Definitely contenders for a follow up article but Shenmue 1 and 2 are not exactly retro yet.

Just knit picking here but Bill Kunkel, the man that arguably started video game magazines in the late 70's/early 80's with Arnie Katz, always felt that it was two words, not one.

My comment was based on Sony's track record in the console market. PS2 played PSOne titles without a hitch. Early PS3's played both PS2 and PSOne titles till Sony removed the PS2 capabilities.

That is why it is a thorn in the side of many gamers' sides as to how Sony is handling the PSP to PSVita conversion.

Why would I buy a Vita to play PSP titles that are digitally downloaded when I can buy a much cheaper PSP and physical, or digital, c...

Re-purchasing titles that you already own is not "true" backwards compatibility. That is simply reselling consumers on titles they bought once.

Obviously, if you have BC from the get go, it is viewed a positive from consumers that have already purchased the previous system. Reports state there are over 80 million PSP owners, that can be a lot of games that gamers can't use on the Vita without "re-purchasing" them.

Unfortunately, I saw Sony dropping backwards compatibility with the PSP when they nixed support for PS2 on PS3 awhile back.

Much like anything, EVERYTHING possible is done to gain support in the beginning but then after a certain level is attained, features are removed.

Thanks Mkay, I approached it based on what fans of the genre would like to know rather than a general review (something new for me).

Yes, the PSP platform has sold over 80 million units world wide, but it is still considered a financial failure for many developers/publishers from a software standpoint. The actual buy rate of systems to games is quite low (many claim this is due to piracy).

No matter how you slice it, the PSP Go has left Sony with a black eye in the eyes of consumers. It simply did not go over well with gamers in any conceivable manner.

Danny, do you mean I should have put a question mark at the end of the article? Or in the title (where the is one)?
