The XMB does not need to be changed. It is an extremely elegant and easy to use UI. It can be improved in certain areas, of course, but the core functionality is great. We already know that Sony is constantly improving it and that is all I can ask for.
The price cut will come in due time, but this is a fantastic bundle that I think will really appeal to a lot of people. The PS3 is already the best deal out there right now, if only more people would realize it.
That's a really nice bundle and a great deal. LittleBigPlanet is one of the best games to come out this gen and Wall-E is a pretty good family movie. If I didn't already have a PS3 I would be getting this. Even if you didn't get that great game and Blu-ray with it, $399.99 is not that much considering everything the PS3 does. Anybody on the fence, just get it. I promise you that you will not regret it.
My tv only does 720p so I am perfectly happy that the two consoles mainly stick to 720p. You are right though, the difference between 720p and 1080p on smaller screen sizes is basically imperceptible.
I do enjoy Halo. They are all great games.
My PS3 copy hasn't given me any problems. Curiously enough my friend has it on 360 and he's at my house right now playing my PS3 and says that he hasn't had any freezing on his Xbox 360 copy. Take that as you will.
...
I pretty much agreed with all his points.
On PS3 I love the first party games that Sony offers, playing Blu-ray movies, great multimedia features, web browser, etc.
On 360 I love the strong performance on multiplatform games, Xbox LIVE, Arcade games, Netflix streaming, etc.
Mass Effect is the best action RPG I have ever played and one of the best games on the 360. I can't wait for ME2.
Way to go OXCGN, you did a great job of being pretty fair and impartial. As an owner of both the PS3 and the 360, I appreciate that.
Wow you sure like to show that same screenshot a lot don't you? I am more of a PS3 fan but I think you are pushing that a little too hard. Everyone knows Gears of War 2 is a great looking game.
God of War 3, mmmm delicious, I can't wait.
I like motion controls as long as they are used well. A lot of Wii games that I have played do not work that good with motion controls, but the ones that do are a lot of fun.
It didn't sound like it was going to be an all new console to me. What I got from it was that he was talking about Natal. I am sure we will see a new Xbox in a couple years and it sounds like they will keep supporting the 360 at the same time.
Mass Effect is the best western RPG that I have ever played. Can't wait for Mass Effect 2.
Same reason Demon's Souls and MGS4 aren't coming to the 360 I guess. Sometimes 3rd party developers just decide they want their game on a certain console.
Unfortunately not every developer has the budget or talent of Naughty Dog, Guerrilla or Insomniac.
I like Halo.
Yep, looks great.
I like the XMB best because it looks great and works perfectly. I like the fact that the store is a separate place that you go into (like a real store) and I like that the interface isn't cluttered with advertisements.
The XMB feels like the most mature interface and is a perfect match for what I consider to be the most hardcore console this generation. When I start up my Xbox 360 and see my cartoonish avatar staring back at me it makes me feel like I am playing something aimed...
