Considering over half of the games in my collection are exclusives I would have to say yes, exclusives matter.
Exclusives tend to be of a higher quality than the majority of multi-platform games. I simply wouldn't want to see exclusives go away.
IGN Head-to-heads are always kind of shallow. They don't go into much detail.
Anyway, PS3 and 360 versions look nearly identical, but the 360 version is a little too dark on the default settings (which can be adjusted).
So, it doesn't really matter which version you get (if you plan on getting it). Just get it for the system you own or the system you prefer.
That's silly. I prefer the PS3 and I know that it is the more powerful console, but one console being more powerful than the other does not mean the weaker one is going to just die. The PS2 was a pretty powerful console when developers figured it out, but the Xbox was still more powerful and we know how that turned out.
Besides, there are not that many developers that really know how to use the PS3's power so far. That situation is obviously improving, but the 360 is definitel...
Hey don't make this a prejudice thing against Americans. A lot of people here love the PS3 and there are a lot of people in other countries that prefer the 360. Last time I checked the 360 was doing pretty good in Europe too.
Remember, also, that last generation Americans favored the PS2. And products from all over the world are popular here and sell well.
When you guys use the word "American" you guys should also realize that that refers to a whole ...
Ok it's true that the 360 has a couple areas where Microsoft made some good decisions that make the 360 a pretty powerful and easy to use system. That said, the PS3's CPU definitely has much higher performance than the 360's and it also has super fast XDR RAM which is a lot faster than the 360's RAM. So, if programmed for correctly the PS3 has a fairly sizable performance advantage over the 360.
You can easily see this performance advantage in games like Uncharted and Killzon...
Who doesn't go back and play some of the great games on older systems? Does a game suddenly stop being good just because a new generation starts? Games like Shadow of the Colossus and God of War are timeless classics that can always be enjoyed. It's true that with all the awesome games constantly coming out on the new systems that I don't have a lot of time to play older games, but I still find the time for some games because they are just that good.
Keeping your old system is...
You can't tell much from this low quality video and I would say they both look good here, but I have a feeling that GT5 will be the better looking sim when it comes out. No worries though. I am sure both games will be really fun to play.
This is fantastic news. My PS3 already has BC but I know that there are lots of PS3 gamers out there who have more recent PS3 models and would love to have PS2 backwards compatibility. I use my PS3 to play lots of great PS2 games like Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, God of War, Tenchu, Resident Evil 4 and Okami.
This is why I love Sony. They support their products and continually work to improve them.
Well maybe because it is his job to point out the good in the 360 and the bad in its competitors, but in his personal life maybe he is just a gamer and recognizes good when he sees it and his gamer self just slips out sometimes.
Everybody should buy a PS3 and if you have the money get a 360 too.
Nice comments from Greenberg. I really don't think he is as bad as some people have made him out to be.
He's right though, MLB 09 The Show is the best baseball game I have played.
@tommyhj
I know what you mean. I thought the same thing. I am a long time fan of Firefly and when I played Uncharted I was surprised by how much Nathan Drake reminded me of Nathan Fillion's character Malcolm Reynolds. They are very similar kinds of characters and Nathan Fillion has shown that he has what it takes to play that kind of character perfectly.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Nathan Fillion all the way. No other choice is as good. He has the look, the mannerisms and the charm and wit to pull off the character of Nathan Drake. And they just so happen to have the same first name. He's the most perfect choice by far.
A price cut will no doubt come at some point, but does it really make sense to call the PS3's sales "lagging"? It has stayed neck and neck with the 360 since it came out. Sure, it is a year behind the 360, but it wil probably be out a year or more after the 360. As I see it, the PS3 and 360 are direct competitors and are basically even in sales right now (if not the PS3 leading) and the Wii is a different market and can't directly be compared.
I hope this turns out well. Uncharted is one of my favorite games and I know that it has a ton of potential for the big screen, but I hope they put as much heart and soul into it as Naughty Dog do.
Who am I kidding, I can't wait for this movie.
The truth is, neither system has really done that great so far either in quantity or quality of RPGs. Not compared to past consoles. We need more RPGs damn it. lol
Edit ^^^ lol, it looks like we had the same idea.
Both systems have a fairly balanced variety of software. The PS3 just happens to have more of my favorite games. Uncharted and Infamous are two perfect examples. Oh and Demon's Souls is awesome too.
But the PS3 has Demon's Souls, one of the best RPGs I have ever played, so it wins. /jk
Oh and there aren't nearly as many themes available for the 360 as for the PS3. There are probably thousands of themes available for the PS3 (or, at the very least, hundreds).
This makes it very easy to always have a new look on my XMB and it always feels fresh.
Ads on my user interface make me feel like the console isn't mine. I like how customizable the XMB is and how there are no ads; it really feels like it is uniquely mine.
