The author hit the nail right on the head. All Japanese developers should read it if they want to make game that appeal to the west.
I pray for my enemies and I consider them to be my brothers. I only want the best for the Arab world. I have served in the Navy and I can tell you that all soldiers are team players. They believe as I believe. The soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan care about the enemy.
I thought it was cool for Marty to share his faith. He also said that Jason Jones was responsible for much of the influence. The Biblical influence is obvious in Halo, but I always wondered about the intent.
I really believe that the huge success is due to the tie-in with the Bible.
Everything she said was correct. It's very obvious that this holiday is a bust for Sony. They don't have anything to compel gamers to buy their console. No Home, no AAA Killer App, no price drop.
Duh!!!
Of course, Sony pushed Sixaxis on Factor 5.
Of course, Sony added tilt sensing at the last minute to justify the lack of rumble.
But, the journalists just take whatever Sony hands them. If Sony says, "rumble is last gen". Then the journalists just repeat those words. They don't "speculate", nor investigate.
The best things in life are free.
Quote from article: "Sony (SNE) has already dropped the price of its two models, originally $599 and $499, by $100 apiece."
That's wrong. You can't get a $399 PS3. Also, the only model available now is $599.
It's amazing how dumb journalists can be. When it comes to numbers, they are always confused.
Winter 2007 means the winter season this year. If they said "winter 2008" would you assume that meant this January or next?
It was announced for March 2008 before and this hasn't changed. (That actually means Holiday 2008, guys. Let's be real. They don't release AAA games in March. If you're lucky, it'll be August 2008.)
Mass Effect is my most wanted game. It looks like it will push video games to another level.
I think this game is aiming for the Arab market.
Like others have said, it's not possible to have a beta a month before release. You need a few months to absorb the data and make changes. Home will likely evolve over time anyways, so why bother with a "beta".
(Although this free website has been in "beta" forever. I never understood how a website can be in "beta" since all websites grow and evolve.)
Sony made RFOM for the West. But, the library was slim for Japan so they bought an FPS and liked it.
I wonder if that game drummed up interest for the FPS genre in Japan?
I doubt it, but anything can happen.
It's well known that the Japanese don't like first-person views. I still doubt that Halo 3 will make a dent in Japan. But looking at the other scores, the PS3 had no reviews and nothing else scored above an 8. It looks like Halo 3 is GOTM for Famitsu.
Resident Evil and MGS were remade for GC and they felt like the same game. I don't think you want to play a game when you know the plot and ending.
Besides, everyone assumes it's coming to PS3. Maybe Microsoft didn't spill all of their beans at the press conference?
It's interesting that Famitsu was the first review for Halo 3. I'm surprised that they liked it as much as Blue Dragon.
I wonder how Lost Odyssey will turn out? Will that match Mass Effect?
But if the game is good, you won't be able to put it down. I beat KOTOR 5 times. That's about 200 hours. When a game is just "so-so", you won't bother to finish it.
It is perfectly legit to compare Gears with RFOM since they were released at the same time. But PS3 owners decided to make excuses for Sony. So, now we are comparing games released at similar times during their own respective life cycles (which is baloney).
All we have is Lair, Warhawk, and HS to compare as 1st party games. What other game is Sony releasing in November? Folklore?
Sorry, 1 year later, Gears is the graphics king (until Mass Effect comes out).
It may not be the reason, but DVD manufacturing is very fast and very cheap. Blu-Ray is known to be the most expensive of all formats. I think they have yield issues, too.
The Wii is in a lonely place. It's not a state-of-the-art console, nor a handheld.
