The other advantage is being able to share it. My wife and I have two PS4s (one each from before we got married), so we can buy the game once as a download and play it online together. Would cost twice as much to do the same with physical copies.
With that said, we are big believers in physical copies, and even buy two physical copies of some games.
The franchise is showing no sign of dying yet - they keep bringing out more and more merchandise for it all the time!
Yes, the Old Hunters was fantastic - incredible how much they managed to expand the lore of the game, while creating a short, yet incredibly rich, genuine Bloodborne experience. In a way, it's a shame it didn't receive more DLC, but to have such a successful game and follow-up DLC is so rare that we probably shouldn't complain!
Big Surf Island hadn't even crossed my mind!
I know there are plenty of good examples of how to do good DLC (and that Burnout Paradise isn't the most popular in the series amongst fans), but I remember being blown away by the way that Criterion supported Burnout Paradise. The game grew so much since its original release.
I agree. At least we're now getting some really quality remasters. I remember when the Remasters started coming out for PS3, and while I bought a few, most were simple ports with upscaling and improved textures.
There are some really high-quality games out there that don't deserve to be forgotten - they deserve to be remastered and brought up to date.
There's only so much innovation that new games can provide. If we insisted on no remakes, we ...
I know someone who used to hold a controller upside-down. No idea how that worked...
I also got into playing guitar through Guitar Hero and Rock Band. And I know at least three other people who did the same.
Still get Rock Band out a few times a year. I really don't think you can say it failed when they're still bring out DLC every week! They must be making enough money from it to keep the licensing going!
I completely agree about Sully's kidnap. I replayed it a few weeks ago, and even now (after around 6 playthroughs) that particular aspect of the plot didn't make sense.
The strangest part was when Nate returned to land after the boat sank, found Elena, but didn't ask her about Sully. In fact, that sequence seems to ignore the Sully kidnap section entirely. There's no mention (other than Nate's ramblings in the desert) until suddenly Sully appears during ...
It has Goldfinger's "Superman". That's all I care about. The game just wouldn't be the same without it.
Ah, interesting!
I must confess, I'm ashamed to admit that I've never played a PoP game.
Techland is the developer of Dying Light.
I don't think it's fair to say this is a cruel prank. It's just Ubisoft protecting their license.
How many months ago? I played it in the middle of March and it definitely wasn't fixed.
So did I, however I recently started playing it again, and realised I had forgotten how amazing it was. One of the better games of this generation, and yet it was such an early release!
I haven't played an AC game since Syndicate. I watched my wife play through Origins and Odyssey but had no interest in playing them myself.
The idea of enemies being higher level than you, and therefore being able to absorb about 400 hits just didn't interest me. The series has always been about (or at least, should have been about) planning out your attacks and being able to take down any enemy as silently and efficiently as possible.
Bring back ...
I replayed it last week, and while I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it, it was a stark reminder of how far the series has come.
Compared to later entries, the puzzles were few and far between, and were quite tedious to complete. On top of that, the shooting gameplay seemed really poor (maybe I'm just awful at it!) with clear headshots and even body shots sometimes not registering as hits.
Don't get me wrong, it's a great game. But it reall...
Was BL2's story really that good? I've played it through several times since the first time I played it, but even then, I don't recall being blown away by it. A few nice twists and a well-fleshed out villain, but other than that, it's fairly standard.
Not that I think BL3 is any better. I completely agree that BL2 has a better story.
I know what you mean about being burned out. But you're right; like every game in this series, it puts 'fun' above absolutely everything else. So the story, environments, guns, etc might not be perfect, but you can usually guarantee you're going to have fun playing it.
Woah, Ava is an insufferable brat?
I think I've been playing a different game to the rest of you! :S
6/10? So you're saying it's a slightly above-average game?
Sorry - it's been a while since I've seen a debate about how any game rated below an 8 is considered a poor game.
