Spoiler alert, much?
Just kidding! Though I'm actually only just playing FC3 now for the first time, and genuinely didn't know that happened! Haha!
It was definitely a very clever idea! Held back by poor marketing (as you said), poor narrative, underdeveloped characters and technology that hadn't QUITE reached the standard required for that kind of twist. Such a shame.
It's an idea that now wouldn't be all that ambitious, but back in 2008 it was an interesting idea that had the potential for so much depth!
Haze broke me. I was such a massive fan of Timesplitters that I didn't believe for one second they could make such a generic, sub-par game. It even had a couple of neat ideas, but nothing that could save it from utter failure.
I learnt a harsh lesson from that game.
Yes, they did a great job with the Spyro games (apart from a couple of glitchy areas in Spyro 3). I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with this, and hope they are also planning a Spyro 4!
Evidently not. Every game on this list is great.
Seems to me like this could have actually been hinting at an entirely different plot, wherein Ellie became pregnant and had to deal with the idea of raising a child in the apocalypse, and whether the child would be immune.
You're absolutely right! I opened the page and saw Jak X as the 'worst', and was initially horrified, as I love that game! Then I remembered this was only Naughty Dog games...
I'm definitely in favour of any new Jak and Daxter. But I'm not sure ND are the ones to do it. There are plenty of other developers who would be well placed to take it on with some supervision from the original designers.
When they introduce a new mechanic for the final boss fight that you need to master to beat that boss.
Replayed inFamous Second Son recently, and you have to use Concrete power to beat the final boss - a set of abilities you have only just acquired. Not only that, but you lose out on all your previous abilities that you've spent the entire game mastering and levelling up. A disappointing end to a great game.
Who says it will cost $60? But you're right, if it does, it had better be good! I'd expect a game like this to cost around $30-35.
Agreed. The Spyro Remaster was excellent though.
You can always pre-order it, try the demo, then cancel the preorder if it doesn't hold up.
The good news here is that they are confident enough that the game is good that they're willing to let people try it before release.
Hate to be that guy, but...
Parts of space are very bright. Like INCREDIBLY bright. Also, if you happened to be in a dark part of space, even a very bright torch would unlikely do you any good.
What's wrong with the thumbnail image?
I completely agree. It just didn't have the heart or the scope of the first game. The galaxy didn't feel nearly as huge as it did in the original Mass Effect, and while some of the characters weren't awful, they felt like rehashes of previous characters, mixed with personality traits of other popular characters from other properties.
All of which is a shame, because those things that the game did well were great!
Wow... I hadn't heard about this (nor the rumoured PC port) until I read your comment.
I REALLY hope this isn't true. I replayed Bloodborne a couple of months ago, and the game really doesn't need remastering. A patch to get it running at 60fps would probably be appreciated, but the game still looks fantastic for the most part.
I mean, I'm a big fan of remastering games, and I'm a big fan of Bloodborne. But no. Just no.
I don't remember seeing anything about poor sales performance! Did it really perform so poorly?
All I remember is having an absolute blast with it! It's a fantastic game!
Great news. The Outer Worlds is probably my favourite RPG from the last few years. I'll certainly look forward to returning to the game for some new stories!
It would be nice to have some new crew-mates. The ship felt fairly quiet, even with all 6 available. But I think they'll save additional crew for the sequel.
@RazzerRedux
I completely agree!
Just not sure rating a game 6/10 gives grounds for a refund!
Haha, no worries! It's TOTALLY been long enough. It's only my sheer ignorance that has led me to not play the games until this point.
I have no one to blame but myself!
