You might be onto something; I'm one of those guys who received LBP as a Christmas gift...from myself! XD
Incidentally, I also bought R2 as a Christmas gift for my cousin. I'm happy to see Resistance movin' on up...such an amazing, amazing game.
Bought the game last week along with a slew of other titles, but despite numerous efforts, I have been unable to insert the CD and play, in fear that my manhood will become pulverized the moment the game begins.
With so many hardcore SOCOM fans out there, I'll no doubt be easy, easy pickings. Wonder if the game will allow me to dress my character up in a flourescent orange jumpsuit, clown shoes, an illuminated ten gallon hat, and a big sign that says "I'm Special!"...m...
Big LOL!
Strange...I'm usually pretty good at - or at least enjoy - playing Armchair Producer and casting people for parts...but my mind is completely blank on this one.
Can't even remotely think of anyone yet, who can fill those monstrous shoes...err, sandals...demanded by such a distinct, behemoth character that is Kratos.
Oooh!...this may be sacrilegious for some of you, but a thought just hit me regarding fantasy matchups of such respective character...
"...already on my 3rd Ps3..."
Third PS3?? Wow, you like the PS3 THAT much that you just had to buy three, eh?
Can't say I blame you; after all, it is an astonishing, rock-solid machine.
I'm personally trying to sneak my way towards my SECOND PS3, but my currently-stringent budget won't allow.
I'm afraid my first, launch-model PS3 will have to suffice for now. :(
I generally agree.
The absence of a backlight is sorely missed, especially considering that I like to play in pitch-dark, and the touch-sensitive buttons are a little hit-and-miss for me...a little gimmicky. Another thing is my having to get used to is how easily my index fingers run into the keypad when they're on the R1/R2 buttons.
But overall, I've been anticipating this little guy for a long time coming, as I tend to have the notorious habit of filling up my mes...
"Its awkward. It isnt natural. It requires *extra effort*. All that *extra effort* is what causes strain, injury and fatigue."
It's astonishing that after all that work...after blowing all that hot air, you did nothing more than unintentionally described your comment to a tee.

"With the 360 on fire all over the planet..."
Made me do a double-take; took a second to realize what you actually meant.
Poor choice of wording, considering. ;)
From what I gather, I think most people's gripe about it looking "unimpressive" (and I use that term VERY loosely), is that the model textures from the trailer are lacking bump mapping and reflection, causing the models to lack that three-dimensional appeal your brain expects to see.
I know it's hard to do, but try to ignore the textures and focus on the models themselves, which I find to be extremely detailed and astonishing.
A little bit of texture goes a...
"CNN's own Silicon Alley Insider"
The author's being way too polite by using the word "insider."
After reading that <ahem> "article", I couldn't help but wonder whether CNN's feeling the pinch of the recession as well, and compensating by hiring biased, pimply-faced bloggers in exchange for fifteen minutes of fame on CNN's website.
Isn't there supposed to exist sort of code of ethics or integrity with professional jour...
If by 'Singstar 1' you're referring to the first iteration of singstar that officially came out for PS3 a little while back, then yeah, the store should be the same...(see link below for an image of the version I'm referring to.)

Singstar '1', '2', etc, are usually identical gameplay-wise...really what you're paying for is the diffe...

*Weeps quietly*
Funny you mentioned that, because when I first read your post, I was thinking of the Pinto, which kinda fits your analogy like a skin-tight leather glove:
Wasn't the Pinto notorious for exploding and/or catching on fire in the event of a rear collision? Add the fact that they're both American products, both possess thirty-year-old technology, and the comparison is just uncanny!
Uh, well, it's settled then: I officially nominate the XBox 360 as the Ford Pinto of the...
I just want to share with you an awesome deal that Toys R Us is having this week: Buy ANY two video games and get the third (lesser-valued) one free!
This offer is not limited to a single gaming platform, so you can mix and match (a PS3 title with a Wii and/or 360 title, for example.)
Problem is, this offer has been going on all week and ends TODAY!!!
The good news is that Toys R us is currently open till midnight because of Christmas hours...so get out...
Hey!!!...that's an insult to the humble-but-reliable Fiat Punto!
Man, that little car's engine was the size of my fist (only 60HP, if I correctly recall!), and I drove the Hell outta of it, fully loaded-up, all over Italy for 3,000km at 180kph...and not ONE single RROD!
...So you take that back, ye scoundrel, ye! ;)
ON TOPIC:
PS3's got NOTHING to prove; it has already done so long ago, and I cherish mine as a result.
I just can't fatho...
Solid Snake is THE man; he's gotten himself into - and out of - a countless number of pretty funky situations.
Whereas Master Chief's character is as three-dimensional as his facial expressions.
Stay tuned for IGN's next poll:
"Braniac Showdown: Einstein vs Paris Hilton!"
Who's your favorite?
(Wild guess: Kojima?)
some proof in the pudding that R2 isn't comprised of "bland and outdated graphics" like numerous reviewers/haters claim.
Personally, I was blown away by not only the (obvious) majestic scale, but the fine and sharp details that went into the models, environment and textures of this amazing game.
What's even more amazing is hearing anyone claim otherwise.
A big, fat, AGREE!
As far as I'm concerned, the single-player campaign was a twelve-hour thrill ride! It's beyond me why many are so critical about this game, understating the positives and over-emphasizing the (questionable) negatives.
Without giving away anything story-related, I have only a few MINOR gripes about the game:
-Can't kill those damn fishy-monsters
-Would've liked to have commanded some vehicles/robots (as with the first game)

LMAO at your comment.
