They did say that about PSN, but then again, PSN doesn't have a specific down time while Home does.

Home goes down on the Wednesday night (basically Thursday) every week, with content added every two weeks. This time they're doing things in time for E3. I don't know what it is, but hopefully some cool stuff will come out of it.

I agreed with what Adam Sessler said in a small interview a few days ago. Sony is in a good position going into E3 and are one of the few companies that can't really disappoint in a big way unless they really don't do what's been shown, expected and anticipated.

It's not because of who they are, but the games they have. Even if something like PSN+ doesn't get mentioned (which would be weird), they still have tons of exclusives that they've announced an...

"To the contrary, Sony last year at E3 announced Agent & Last Guardian as exclusives. A full year has passed, and still no gameplay exists of either game, let alone a release date."

You're right. They also showed God of War III, Uncharted 2, ModNation Racers, Heavy Rain, MAG, Dissidia, Gran Turismo PSP, Peace Walker, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, A Crack in Time, new PSP hardware and a good amount of PSN titles..... all of which came out in the year since they annou...

Never predict something like that. That was supposed to happen to the PS3 Slim, but it still breaks into the top 15 every day for almost a year now, and it's top 5 whenever something new doesn't come out.

This could help the 360 get up there, as well. After all, the highest selling Elite console on Amazon would always be in the 50s so it's a nice jump for them.

00: That's true, which is why it's unpredictable. The Wii had dropped to $150 ...

Way to jump the gun. You should know not to report on Amazon top sellers. It gets updated hourly and the newest things are always on top.

I think it will sell well, but there's no need to report every time PS3, Wii or 360 consoles are on top. It'll be different the following hours, anyway.

For the love of god, where was it? IGN has truly got to be out of there minds to think that conference was "impressive". The biggest surprise was what? The release date of the new 360?

Seriously, I think the editors were just impressed because Microsoft gave them free new 360s. I don't even own a 360 anymore, but that conference did nothing to sway me to buy a new one.

"It looks nice" doesn't buy it for me. Obviously, the games tha...

If most of them are downloadable, I would expect them to be less than $60. That would be the smart thing to do, but who knows what they'll do. Games for PlayStation Eye are much cheaper than $60, so it's a tough call.

Furthermore, why did you have to bring the Move into the picture?

Oh, right.... reassurance..

I would've thought $40 at most to compete with Wii game prices. They shouldn't be that much.

After what felt like 30 minutes of Kinect talk, they don't even give us a price. It comes off as a nervous act. They were more than willing to give us a price for the new Xbox.

They absolutely, positively, 100%, without-a-doubt stole Day 1. They had a fantastic lineup of announcements. I fell in love with the "Live Broadcast" announcement. It's something that people like me have subconsciously thought about and thought "that would be fucking epic".

EA took Day 1, hands down. Reasons:

~Hot Pursuit is back
~Dead Space 2!
~Criterion is working on the new Hot Pursuit!
~Medal of Honor Beta ...

Are you fucking serious?

Why? That doesn't sound good or look good at all. Xbox 360 S?

That's a terrible official name. For the love of god, take that useless "S" out of there. People can tell it's different from the original, they don't need a single letter to say "Oh! It's different"

Thanks for pointing that out. It really does look that way.

It all seems so crazy after watching their conference. It's almost as if they wanted to announce that they were making a PSWii hybrid..

PS3 hardware (shiny, touch, quiet, internal HDD, etc)
Wii software (Wii Menu, Wii-like games, even the names of their Kinect games)

I'm not saying it's bad. I mean, if the Wii is selling so much and the PS3 managed to sell well af...

I can see a lot of internet memes happening now with those people demoing "Dace Central" for Kinect.

Oh, I thought this dashboard was only when you plugged Kinect in?

Microsoft probably wanted to make a huge impact with the new 360 design, and while it got cheers, it didn't exactly "steal E3" (not like it matters).

The games were good, although that's where the bad is, too. No new exclusive titles? Nothing new that says "this is what I needed to push me into getting a 360" in terms of software.

The ugly was, of course, Kinect. It got off on the wrong foot when we caught wind of the mess of an ev...

It was actually almost exactly what I expected. The thing is, when a conference meets your expectations almost exactly, it's a bit of a disappointment.

Smart move. By continuing to make the older models, they'd be making that audience have to buy a dongle and all this stuff to play Kinect.

It's obvious they took some pointers from Sony, with the WiFi, the internal HDD, the shiny-ness and the touch-sensitivity, which was also good.

I think they should have done a few things different, though. That new design will now just be available to the masses. They didn't treat it like a whole new release li...

I have been, too! I posted a comment about this earlier!

Usually, one-syllable names are ideal for casual products. Instead, they showed us a two-syllable name not once, but twice and that's not even counting "Xbox" before it.

It's possible that this might have been the reason why the EyeToy was only slightly successful and not 70mil successful.

PS: "Wii" also means "piss" and "penis" in English slang, and "small" in Irish slang.

5849d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

There's no reason to give them the benefit of the doubt when they themselves aren't confident enough in their own product to actually show it off live to everyone attending.

It was what I expected to happen that probably caused them to show it off in an improper way. The fact that, even in weeks old footage, Kinect still had problems. Not only with latency (which I think looks like an improvement since last year), which was expected, but with the awkward "twitchi...
