My kids love the Singstar on the PS2. Hope they make the mikes wireless - it is a bit of a tangled mess on the PS2 - 2 controllers, eyetoy, and the two microphones - cables everywhere.
It is a great party game. Hope they will have the eyetoy in it as well.
The 1st Getaway was great. One of the best titles i have ever played. The Getaway Black Monday improved the graphics greatly, but the story was not as good as the first one. Still great game. Actually played it again over the weekend. The graphics on this one looks great - hope the storyline will be as good as the first one. This will be a system seller. Those who played the first two will know how.
Like all the Final Fantasy titles - it sets the bar for graphics a little higher. Becomes the standard against which others will be measured.
Great for the PS3. I am a PS fan myself... Just a pity I actually don't like the Final Fantasy games. Tried the demo's - got bored as hell, and went back to playing The Getaway and Ratchet. Great for FF fans. Wonderful for PS3 fans. Just a pity I don't like this genre of games.
I have around 50 titles for the PS2. (Getaway 1&2; Jack and Daxter 1,2,3; MGS; some sports titles; Singstar; Killzone; etc).. and of course Ratchet and Clank series. The titles my kids love the most is the Jack and Daxter series and the Ratchet and Clank series. Don't know which one more, but those two are absolutely gorgeous, playable, fun. If the next installment of Ratchet and Clank had PS2 graphics, my kids would still wanted it. Looking like this - it will be a system seller.
MS should have included the HD-DVD drive (or maybe the BluRay) and offered the trade in. It is HD-DVD's only chance of survival now. But they will stick to the DVD-9 (fortunately for Sony fans)
If they do offer a reasonable trade in for the elite model, that should at least get rid of all the red rings of death. As much as I dislike MS I fear the day that someone buys me a XB360 - and would really hate to experience the red ring of death. The elite model should be OK. It is sor...
MS don't allow benchmarks of their products. This will just become a benchmark against the PS3 - and the XB360 will loose badly... So forget it, MS will not allow a benchmark publicly where they loose, and especially loose badly...
Heck... Mart is not commenting much on the BluRay issue anymore... Guess he has other fish to fry - like preemptively trying to spread FUD before the PS3 sells too much...
You know, most of us who want a PS3 just can not care less about the FUD that MS and Mart and buddies spread... If anything else, it just makes us get our PS3's more...
I think the viral marketing campaign is failing... people keep on buying BluRay and PS3's regardless of the now near hysteric...
Well... there it is. The HD-DVD drive dropping in price (translated - get rid of this thing it is dead).. and MS putting some preemptive PR to soften the impact of the announcement.
Oh this will be hard for the HD-DVD rabid fans to swallow eh Mart?
Well - good going MS. Suck it up, and get the BluRay in there. Pity they tried to be spiteful - but now they will just have to try and keep a straight face and pretend not to hear the howls of laughter at how they sud...
Wow - this sucker is moving fast. At this pace they will overtake MS before the end of the year. Talk about a reverse in fortunes. Good going Ninty...
Toshiba had the window of opportunity - and if HD-DVD was ready MS would have included it in the XB360. As it is - they needed to launch early, and could not include it. Now PS3 and the studio support has caused BluRay to take the lead. No news of other studios moving to HD-DVD, and the content will decide which one will win. IT is over. Done. MS gambled on the HD-DVD - looked like idiots trying to tell people that the smaller slower disk somehow presents "better value" - but it was...
AzaziL... up with some deliberate self imposed ignorance.
a PS3 sold = BluRay sold.
XB360 sold is not HD-DVD sold.
PS3 over 2m sold. HD-DVD players around 300,000 sold.
Current titles - BluRay +/-70%, HD-DVD +/- 30%
That is after HD-DVD had last year to themselves. Studio support for BluRay is overwhelming.. and no sign of slowing. Just Universal holding out.
XB360 add-on dropping to $130 - meaning - it is not exactly flying o...
Absolutely agree. Get the PS3 to browse online storage in home networks - don't want to make it a home server - not enough space for a Terrabyte storage device - and don't want it to be the server while playing games.
Although - if it is the device that will be feeding the HD TV, then I would like to add 500GB at least to it. Thankfully it is not limited to 20GB like some other dumb consoles out there that can not be expanded with a standard HD.
But I agree fully...
Just MS jumping ship thats all. They know it is all over for HD-DVD. Obviously let the retailers know that it is not continuing it. Maybe they let them know that they will be bringing out a BluRay player add-on for the XB360.
Get over it guys... HD-DVD is dead. And no - MS could not add the HD-DVD player in because it was not ready yet. They would if it was ready. Forget the PR BS, MS would include the HD-DVD as standard if it was ready. And BluRay would be dead if they did - b...
It has long a go become funny to watch the media bias against the PS3. The viral marketers, the paid "analysts" etc etc. The dumb dumb dumb statements, spinning weaknesses of other platforms, pretending the PS3 comes at $600 ignoring the lower priced version - comparing to the core XB360 price point - the pretending that HD-DVD will somehow whip BluRay when it died in sales already etc etc etc.
When the PS3 is out of stock - the woe is us, Sony failed, - when in stock...
Ace Combat is nice. Would have liked to see it on the PS3. Still not so good that I will get a 360. There will mos probably be a version of Ace Combat for the PS3.
This is great. They seem to be getting on top of the BC issues. Not like some other consoles that seem to have on 7.3% BC. And the numbers and quality is sure to continue improving. Not like some other consoles where no news or improvement has been heard of about their previous console that was taken behind the barn and shot.
On the MS compatibility - funny one I experienced - could not get Age of Empires I & II running on XP on my new laptop. BTW - Age of Empires is a MS p...
So Toshiba hopes that people buying a PS3 will not be using it as a Blu-Ray player? Quite absurd. Every PS3 player will be used as a BluRay player. The reason for it is so simple that I can't believe someone did not mention it before.
Answer the simple question - do you buy a HD TV for games, and then another one for watching videos? Or do you buy one HD TV and use it for games and video? Of course you use it for both. So if you use it for both, then the device connected to it ...
MS could never invent anything. They always buy themselves into a market.
Same with the console industry. They will buy and buy until they can create a monopoly.
But there is more to just Capcom and consoles. This is about control for the living room, and the technology that kids will grow up with.
MS will lose billions upon billions - but they are not called the "vole" for nothing.
Bad for the industry though, but expecte...
Just look at the over eager xbots. They claimed the BluRay was a failure, and now according to sales figures, BlueRay started outselling HD-DVD titles.
You can not proclaim something as a failure in the first couple of months.
Compare the XB360 first months to the PS3 first months. The PS3 is doing better than the XB360.
Compare the PS2 with PS1, the PS1 outsold the PS2 a couple of months after it was launched.
PS2 still has a lot of...
Just typical "lets bash the PS3" drivel. Those who want a PS3 just roll their eyes at this media hatred and sensationalism. Great machine, great current titles, great sequels and new IP coming. It will do fine. Reason why many get it is because of the BluRay (including me). Don't care what a dev says about it. He is right. Sony knows better with this issue. It will show in the next two years.
