BAH! Pain - Everyday shooter, bowling - where are you!!!! :)

This figure is not even close to being accurate - 9% maybe, but certainly not 90%.

Remember the demographic of who buys the DS - mums, grandma's, kids etc. None of them will have a add on cart that allows them to download and play iso's! Attach rates are low because casual gamers are just that - casual.

Making such blatently fabricated statements loses ELSPA all credibillity, and I have to wander why they did?

I've had this game for a few days (Asian release has full english option), and its exactly what I expected - a great looking traditional style RPG. The characters take a bit to get into, but the way the story unfolds is well crafted and I have to say I'm finding it far more enjoyable than Blue Dragon was - though I'm only 5 hours into it...
I don't think anyone who doesn't like old school RPG's will be converted by this game, but for those of us who like this stuff, this is great and ...

Yes - quite right mate, I don't understand why it is, but the figures speak for themslves.
The thing is, it's not what people want to hear, so the point keeps being ignored and the old addage that 360 gamers buy more titles for their machines is till widely posted and belived, despoite the figures showing otherwise.. :)

Bubble for you for simply being able to speak the truth, though I know you'd rather it was otherwise! :)

I'm actually an owner of all consoles, and always have been since the first 'pong' machines.

I would have to pay even more if that were what they charged - I love games and I'm in the buisness, so I have a buisness need to know whats out there and how it plays/look/handles.

Just because my need is such that I must buy, it doesn't mean I should be ripped off! This is the same logic as stating ticket touts have a right to sell at 5x the face cost of a ticket.

By far the most uninformed piece of drivel I have read, and I have read some utter junk.
It's not just that I love the games, its just that the guy makes no valid points.
Comparing it with 'simon'??? Simon was memory game - about the only reason you could compare it is because colours light up?

Much as I agree its a valid enough story, I can't bring myself to approve this - its the kind of utter junk that doesnt inform anyone...

Yes mate, I did. Nearer $500, and that was for a short run, and bought at a bargin price - it would have cost a lot more otherwise! My Audio system cost many thousands, and I pay to achieve the best fidelity I can. Just my phono cable from the CD player to the AMP cost $400 too. In many ways I wish I couldn't hear the difference, as I'm not a rich man!
I do it with my video playback too - but its considerably cheaper to get serious quality with video equipment! I didn't need to spend m...

Hard to believe thay have the nerve to charge for this! A few pages of text with some plinky piano music and two pieces of jewlery to equip when there are so many to choose from in the game anyway?
Bah - I'll continue to play it without any extra's thank you! :)

For those that care about this style of game - it's well worth the try and a real grower, characters you love ..or hate. Not going to win any originality awards, but its old school RPG gaming and looks lovely..

It's certainly not news - I've had the M3 simply for well over a year...

We've always been ripped off here.

But read the article very carefully - they are doing nothing about it at all! Simply hoping that 'naming and shaming' will do any good is a pretty pathetic response. This story comes out every couple of years and all the previous exposure has never done anything to change the behaviour. Only legal action will make these companies take notice and price these kind of products at the same level as they are elsehwere...

This is a very poor article. No measurements and not even any subjective comparisons, it asks itself a question and then fails to even attempt to find an answer.

For best possible fidelity from a digital source that doesn't need a long cable, HDMI is the only cable you should use.

A good quality HDMI cable should have gold plated connectors (they don't oxidise over time and degrade the connection), be well shielded to eliminate interference from other signals, an...

I guess for those of us with both these consoles, the choice of which one to buy for is easy, even without this potential issue!
The 360 controller has plenty going for it, but its 'D pad' for fighting games is not one of those attributes!

@POG

Actually mate, I make games for a living and have owned just about every single games machine created since the fist pong machines(yes I'm that old).
In all that time, and through all that hardware, I have only ever had to replace one other machine - my PS2 laser finally wore out after many years of good service and I replaced it with a 'slim'. I bought a 360 as it was released, and didn't regret it. But I've had 2 rrod, and thats 2 too many for my liking.
If...

Well - its a one off problem at the moment, but theres little doubt now that having sku's without harddrives is hurting the experience for other users and causes dev issues.

Given that every xbox had a hard drive, it does seem a retrograde step...

Still, whats done is done, and its not going to change, but developers need to ensure that 360 titles do not require a HD.. its a daft situation to have two sets of games, ones for HD equipped and ones that don't need ...

It's a shame that Live has such restrictive limits.
They were imposed to ensure that 20 gig drives aren't seen as prohibitively small.

I'm disgusted that they charge for this type of content - it should have been included in the game. You complete the game and there's hardly anything unloacked at all.
They are just shafting you to extract more cash, so I'm keeping wallet firmly closed.

Once you accept your fate and make sure your well stocked with brandy or something, its actually a good laugh!
Once I get that drunk I fumble all the notes on Guitar Hero anyway, so a drunken sing song is about all I'm good for!

How can I resist? More drunken sing song's with the misses, coming right up!

Arguments about valid story aside, I don't see that the initial story needed any 'proof'?
Anyone who read the interview with a reasonable unbiased viewpoint, would see clearly that here was a guy who understood the intricacies of bringing such a product to market, and more over, appeared to know the particulars of the 360 design and manufacturing structure extremely well. It was certainly not the kind of interview that could be constructed by someone faking knowledge - I have higher l...

Thanks all! It's great to have a decent conversation without trolling going on eh? :)

@Lord2008
I think you make some valid points, and I believe you are partially correct!
However - don't assume the price difference will always be the barrier it is today. Currently the media is priced at 'early adopter level', but the cost of production and duplication has been falling and as the userbase grows, economy of scale together with increased competition will see these...
