GowIII and some other game are the only ones being developed by sony itself, so there is no argument there.
all I've seen is you pressing a button at a scripted sequence. Nothing new about that. When you come down to the bare bones of heavy rain it's just a tech demo of "virtual models."Pretty ugly models at that.:)

I admit the ps3 has been stumbling when it came to new IPs. I think that is more of the fact of development time with it's terrible architecture. LBP is the only new IP that doesn't suffer from this. But I quit 2D platforming about a decade ago when OoT came out. Little late there Sony!
This isn't max payne. It's a new IP and they already have 3 trailers out (one that came out recently). And it's the cinematic trailer that has everyone excited.

I admit the tacking on of multiplayer modes is annoying. Why don't they do like MP3 did by just cutting altogether, a bad multiplayer experience. Mgs4 had a incredible single player, but MGO was really an after-thought with boring modes and lousy maps. And most reviewers (including gameinformer) passed it off as "well it's a bonus." GI are really hypocrites when it comes to that aspect.

Why is darksniper referring to himself in the 3rd person? And why is he even playing multiplatform games. They are better on the 360 anyway. I don't care if it's "exclusive" to the 360. @PirateThom your count is wrong. Gears 2 has won an award from some xbox-only site. And GTAIV, like it or not, will wrap up most of the GOTY awards. Sorry to disappoint you but most of the industry liked GTAIV more than mgs4. Probably because most of them aren't MGS fanboys.
but not likely. I mean they are ahead of the curve when it comes to digital distribution. But 8 or 16GB aren't going to cut it when it comes to a serious gamer.
I think they gave it to GTAIV because they didn't like the story in mgs4. Well it's just their opinion after all. On to 2009!
L4D is incredible. I only wish it lasted longer than it did. But there is plenty of replay value when it comes to zombies attacking at random times.
they have plenty of room for improvement in the zelda series. I personally think the next zelda is going to be the most revolutionary zelda ever.

What did they expect you to be able to do? Go across the whole US. And who says you have to go in the internet cafe or go bowling. More is better even if you don't want to do it.
They did Xbox Live right. They did the 360 controller right. They did achievements right. They did the 360 architecture right.
Sony failed at home. They threw in bells a few bells and whistles to their horribly uncomfortable DS2 and called it a day. They made a ripped-off of achievements with their "trophies" which 90% of their games don't have (including mgs4) and have to be patched.
